Q. Would it be correct to say that there are more stars today than at any time in the film industry with Khans dominating and many youngsters becoming stars?
Ans. There is a lot media today inclding paid media so basically anybody appearing on tv can be looked as a star. But when it come to actually drawing an audience to theatres its still 6-7 stars and that is probably what it has been in all eras. Today is three tier star system with Salman, Shahrukh and Aamir tier 1, Hrithik and Ranbir tier 2, Akshay and Ajay tier 3. These are the only stars. Then there is Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra who need a couple of big grossers to establish.

Q. There are huge issues with censorship in India should it not be like the West where a film is rated and then the audience decides?
Ans. There are a lot of things in India which are not like the West and basically censorship cant be like the West because it has more to be with society than anything else. Actually its really not that important as the film industry is where it is due to the support of family audiences and any film which actually has appreciation is the one which works with families. This audience does not appreciate sex, violence or swearing and it goes to the extent that many makers who know this audience show as less bloodshed as they can even when making action films and it works. On the other hand there is the freedom of the maker but with so many films being made in India it is open to abuse as well.
