10 things we LOVED about Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's Iceland song from Dilwale!

BollywoodLife had the exciting opportunity of attending a special screening for one of the hottest films of 2015.Shah Rukh Khan along with director Rohit Shetty and his co-stars Kajol, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever and the technicians of Dilwale hosted a special screening where we got to watch parts of the film and the mind blowing song Farah Khan choreographed in Iceland.
Here are 10 things from the song that simply blew our heads off!
Stunning visuals
The song is one of the most beautifully shot tracks of recent times. You can't take your eyes off those majestic locales from Iceland. There is an international feel to the way the song has been choreographed and both Farah and Rohit have done an amazing job of capturing the elusive beauty of Iceland. Don't be surprised if you see other filmmakers rushing to the country to shoot their forthcoming songs.
Shah Rukh-Kajol's chemistry
A lot has been written and talked about Shah Rukh and Kajol's mesmerising chemistry. There is no one like them and this fact couldn't be more true once you see the song. Think of Suraj Hua Madham and now amplify the magical chemistry they shared in that song ten fold! The minute he comes running towards her and they lock eyes, you are done! These two can set the screen on fire by simply playing a game of who blinks first. Absolutely killer chemistry.
Pritam's melody
The song will turn out to be one of the biggest hits on radio and the music charts. Pritam has composed a song that is not only melodious but it also stands the test of time. It has love, longing, innocence and shades of yearning for each other that has sort of become a signature pattern of a Pritam track. Also the best thing is that it doesn't sound like any other Shah Rukh- Kajol track and that in itself in a huge achievement. You will be humming the chorus of this song for the rest of the next year!
Mind blowing special effects!
After Game of Thrones, if anyone else has captured Iceland beautifully then it is Rohit Shetty. The song has a lot of VFX and special effects that makes it stand apart from anything you have seen. However, the visuals are not over the top or jarring, there is a certain cohesiveness to the way the song has been conceptualised. In one shot Shah Rukh and Kajol are holding each other against the backdrop of a massive waterfall with a silhouette of a stunning rainbow. In another frame the are standing atop parts of a broken aeroplane with the sky glimmering with hues of neon and green. A real treat for you eyes!
Styling
Shah Rukh and Kajol have reverse aged in the song! Even in their close ups they look so young and full of energy. Kajol looks stunning, she's wearing a lot of sarees and also some really well-styled dresses. Shah Rukh looks dapper in his jacket. Special attention has been paid to the way these two look in the song. There styling and costumes is something that definitely stands out in the song.
Farah Khan's magic
This is a signature Farah Khan song, yet unlike anything she has done before. It isn't Suraj Hua Madham, it is somewhere between being dark edgy and also absolutely romantic and full of life. There isn't much dancing, because you don't need that when you have SRK and Kajol professing undying love to each other!
Fittest jodi
Shah Rukh and Kajol are looking super fit in the songs and the clothes compliment their bodies. In fact Kajol has lost oodles of weight and is in her best form ever. SRK has his trainer Prashant Sawant ensure that he looks killer in the film. When you have youngsters Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in the same film you can't afford to look unfit. So that's one more thing that you will notice in the song.
Cinematography
As we mentioned earlier the camera work is simply outstanding! The song has a lot of overhead as well as wide angle frames. There are frames where SRK and Kajol's black outfits stand out against the icy plains of Iceland. It is easily one Rohit Shetty and Farah Khan's best work till date. A lot will be written about the technique and style in which the song is shot. It is also Shah Rukh's most visually appealing song of recent times.
Mean Machines
The concept of using a broken down aeroplane is just fantastic. He's danced on the roof of a train in Farah's Chaiyya Chaiyya from Dil Se and now she's made him dance on top of the wing of a plane. The idea works because it looks stylish and is something that hasn't been done before. There is also a scene where he rides this mean bike and looks stunning. You really can't have a Rohit Shetty film without cars and bikes can you?
Shah Rukh's charisma
There are these slow motion shots of Shah Rukh giving us his signature moves and those are the money making bits in the song. The whole track is built on the idea of eternal romance and undying love. You can literally sense how much SRK and Kajol have immersed themselves in the song when you see it. Despite the freezing temperatures and a not so friendly terrain, SRK has managed to retain his charisma and charm that has had his swooning over him for years. This track is only going to make it more difficult for us to resist ourselves from succumbing to that irresistible charm and dimpled smile.
