I think there's more and more interest in Indian actresses after all the great work Archie Punjabi has done. Her fan base is so big b/c of TGW. And of course Mindy Kaling as well. I hope them luck and maybe it can open doors for more Indian women getting lead roles in dramas.

Haan but Archie & Mindy are american first, so idk if they really qualify as indian actresses per se. They both are phenomenal, no question! Mindys position is quite rare as is & Kalinda is my fav female character, that says a lot coz women are great on TV right now. Shame they do not give Archie enough to work with & she has to leave.

PC needs to do a few guest star roles to get a feel & to get the public attention while she is @ it imho. & I hope to see more opportunities arise as you said!

But they identify themselves as Indian. So I think that's the point. I like Mindy a lot b/c she makes being curvy feel sexy--so her position is rare but still a great one. Archie is just so talented and inhibited. Nimrit is too. I think it's great either way but it paves the way for future generation Indian girls trying to get into HW.

Surveen Chawla offered international show by ABC network

Mumbai: While the new ABC show Quantico', starring Priyanka Chopra as a trainee FBI agent, continues to make news, we hear that actress Surveen Chawla was also approached by the same network for a show. However, Surveen will not be taking up the offer.

Apparently, the casting team wanted Surveen to commit 20 days for a test shoot, but the actress had already given those dates for Bollywood projects and could not give take out the necessary time.

"Yes, I was approached by an American network to do a pilot shoot for 20 days but couldn't go for it because of other work commitments," Surveen confirmed. "I really feel sad because it was a great opportunity. But I'm sure I will make up for it in future."
