After going through many articles which posted the thoughts and ideas of many people , i had realised that Freedom of speech is not an interesting idea after all...
Mufti's speech had caused an uproar in Parliament & in Twitter but if you go through some of the facebook posts and some tweets by tweeplers , you'll know that there are few who clearly supports mufti's arguments 😡

Speech by Sadhvi where she wants to boycott Khans movie by stating stupid reasons had also caused a series of jokes and memes but there are people who are thinking there is some truth to it...

The interview in which the Delhi gangrape convict is blabbering , those words had clearly disturbed all both men and women , but no one can deny the fact that people especially Indians after reading that will again fall in to the never-ending debates over whether woman should go out or whether she should be allowed mobiles etc..

All these posts, topics and ideas that are coming from the people can influence youngsters...(Older people can frame their own opinions, i think) Most of the people are vulnerable especially in young age and as they are listening to all these kinds of talks , speeches...look at the example by bollywood --- AIB roast had made youngsters think that they can also abuse in public as they had seen their beloved stars doing the same thing..(like most people had shaved their heads like Aamir khan when he done the movie Ghajini and throwing cigarettes like Rajnikanth does)

All these clearly indicates that Freedom of Speech is just a ploy to get people to incite divide and hatred ...All these "Love Jihad", "Hindus Only" "Muslims only" talks by various people, especially in social media where majority are youngsters...their minds are going to be affected by all these crap ideas ..

What do you think is better ? Freedom of Speech or Freedom of speech in a limit

Good.

Fact is that most people are not discerning. You never know what a comment or video could do...how it impacts people and their actions.

Certain limits are necessary to maintain order.

Riots have ensued over even fake photos. We do need scrutiny if people themselves are not mature enough and misuse freedoms they have.

Wrong kind of freedom of speech agrevating innocent youth can prove to be fatal. You can see it in syria. I had read it somewere " a nation can survive with nonbelivers but not with oppression" .

Agree...A RESPONSIBLE person is never free in the true sense...
An IRRESPONSIBLE one...well errr,,,,ummm...uhhh..well they can say anything and get away by chanting Freedom of Speech...

It all comes down to how responsible one is.

lol, how about this, scrap freedom of speech, whilst you're at it, scrap democracy as well, clearly in your judgement, Indians are not ready for it, replace it with something like Chinese-style authoritarianism, can't be too careful now, can we? 😆

Some of the tweets for SNL's ISIS skit:

Dear #SNL, jokes about Isis are not funny. See how much you laugh when you have to see your loved one(s) being slaughtered. No respect.

Not very funny #SNL with the ISIS skit. "Take care of my daughter" referring to a group that gruesomely kills.

I'm going to go ahead and voice my opinion on the #SNL ISIS skit. Absolutely hell no, under any circumstance. Poor poor taste!

It's not funny till Twitter outrages. I outrage against the original Toyota commercial. :) Satire doesn't kill people, zealots do.

Suppressing people's words on a public platform does little to remove the disturbing mentality that exists despite of it -- and people are not so gullible to be influenced by the extremist ideas others put out if they have not at some point already considered them.

Limiting freedom of speech stops the debate that absolutely NEEDS to be had to eradicate regressive ideas, the questions that NEED to be asked and answered in order to destroy the sickening mentality that may exist right next to you -- and ironically enough, freedom of speech is the only thing that would make you aware of that mentality. So, go ahead, strip people of the freedom to say what they think -- it is certainly not going to have any effect on the opinions they will still hold.

A lot of men also sexually harass women like Salman does Ayesha in Dabangg but I have yet to hear a clamor for scenes like that to be stopped. Where does responsibility for 'freedom of speech' go then?

And if you are going to curtail verbal 'abuse' in public (while being fully aware that the context of that incident was insult comedy/entertainment), why stop there? Why not censor out violent scenes in movies? You don't think youngsters want to beat people up when they see their heroes doing it in movies? or that they want weapons when they see their faves using them flippantly? So, where do you draw the line in limiting freedom of speech/art?
