'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' to have platform release

Mumbai: Yash Raj Films' upcoming production 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha', starring Ayushman Khurrana and debutante Bhumi Pednekar, will have a platform release. Aditya Chopra, who is the presenter of the film, has decided to give the movie a platform release, according to a release by Yash Raj Films. The makers are sure that the film will grow with strong word of mouth, it added.

A platform release is a term for a motion picture that is playing in a select few theaters across the country. It gradually expands to more theaters as word of mouth spreads and the marketing campaign gains momentum.

The film is Chopra's maiden project as a presenter and director Maneesh Sharma has turned creative producer for the film. "It was a clear decision for us to have a platform release for this film as we have fully believe that the content will be loved by the audiences. It is one of those films that will increase with strong word of mouth," Maneesh said in a statement.

'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' has been directed by Sharat Katariya and will hit theatres on February 27.
