Kareena always seemed to go overboard with one type of movies at one point in her career.

In 2004 it was all critically acclaimed, but since her first career high in 2007, she completely went towards the commercially viable projects without an scope of performance (with the exceptions of a few films).

Do you think she's finally starting to balance her lineup with the recent announcement of Rajkumar Gupta confirming her in his upcoming project about Schizophrenia?

She seems to have become a lot more selective finally.

Lineup now includes 3 films:

Bajrangi Bhaijaan opposite Salman

Udta Punja with Shahid, Alia, and one more actor. Film's about drug abuse problems in Punjab.

Rajkumar Gupta's upcoming about a Schizophrenic woman trying to get about her life.

I think so strange she said before she will do one or two movies every year but now she is doing three ..

The point is she is doing movie with good directors which didn't happen since ages

they seem to disappear and then their names appear when its

actually time to shoot a bgi film.

She's not the one who said anything. It's the director Rajkumar Gupta giving a direct statement.

Ditto to what Briahna has written. I will wait and let her work speak for itself because too many times we tend to have hopes and then those hopes crash. Simply because the films' subject deal with practical, hard hitting issues does not necessarily mean the films will be outstanding (read: Heroine). She has films with backed directors and I hope they work out for her, but I shall not get invested in her work until the product is in market.

Here's to hoping that she is able to complete all of the movies she's part of!

I'm not asking about how the films will do though.

But for Kareena to sign a film that's not opposite an established male lead or not with a director known for giving hits is rare.

It's just based on lineup, on paper, does it look like her strategy has changed?

Don't think she's at a point where she's offered movies with directors that churn 200 cr. films and the Khans have moved on to even younger women while the newer actors work with Alia and the likes. It's good she has re-worked her strategy but that's mostly because of the circumstance she has found herself in. Had she been still offered movies like HNY, Kick, I have no doubt in my mind that she would have signed up for them.

Whatever her situation may be, it's good she has taken time off to understand herself and make out a way so that she still has relevant projects in hand.

But she is doing a flick with Salman, that too with a pretty big shot director like Kabir Khan.

Salman doesn't do as much charity. I mean when was the last time he took a Rani or Karisma in his movie?

That was my point. My complaint was never with her doing commercial films, even flowerpot roles, but the fact that that was ALL she was doing.

All I wanted was for her to do one film that didn't really need a big actor. I think she's finally listening.

And, she was offered Singh is Bling. Which she...thankfully turned down. 😆
