Abhishek Bachchan & Kareena Kapoor to star together?

Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjab' has been in the news for quite some time with regards to the speculations surrounding its cast. While it is now known that ex-flames Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan will be reuniting for the film for the first time post their high-profile break-up, it is also being rumoured that Abhishek Bachchan will be joining the cast.

According to Filmfare, filmmaker Karan Johar was the one to suggest Bachchan's name for the parallel role in Chaubey's film. If all goes well, Bachchan will be essaying the role earlier offered to Ayushmann Khurrana.

Interestingly, Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had made their debut together in Refugee' (2000); while they went on to doing a number of films together after their debut, it has now been a long time since they last worked together.
