Coz srk was stripped naked on LA airport for which India demanded and apology and Us gave in.

Can u blv this is the same US who cancelled Namo's visa to Us when they were ruining other countries. I can safely say that Obama knows Mr Narendra Modi... who got the most numbers of votes in history of mankind. 😉

Btw, bade bade desho me... was an appropriate dialog. The love-hate relationship between these 2 geat nations r going in the love directions... much to envy of our neighbours. Saruk just happened be in it.

Our Ex NZ PM Mrs Helen clerk visited India back in 2005 or something and personally met Roshans and gave them "thank you gift" for making NZ a fav. destination for tourists and syudents from BW lovers. HR fans on that didnt jump up n down for that. 😆😆

U might say Us is mighty and NZ is tiny.. doesnt matter. We can conqure Everest first.. we ca say NO to US Navy ships with Nuclear capabilities on our shores. We can say NO to Iraq war. US knows that.

Well Obama simply wanted to name icons from different religions and gender so he named SRK in Muslims.

I wonder why media is making hullaboo only over SRK when Obama has named Mary Kom and Milkha Singh also!

Milking it for publicity?

Obama naming SRK does not mean he is the biggest star. Otherwise it would mean even Milkha Singh is the biggest Sikh icon or sportsperson from India internationally, which of course is not true.

Obama's speech writer simply named famous people from different religions to underline secular values of India.

Apart from Hollywood, Bollywood is the only movie industry that has managed to make a large impact and be well-known. Our celebrities definitely have made their place in the visible scheme of things. And SRK, most definitely, is the poster boy for a large section of the foreign audience. It's not a huge shot for Obama to be aware of who SRK is.

SRK has made international headlines many a times for a number of reasons. He's been named in many prestigious international magazines and newspapers. (I remember Temptations concert made it to the front 'Entertainment' page of NYT, SRK was the cover of LA Times, The Guardian) Most recently, all the news about the second richest actor. It was reported everywhere. Even DDLJ's 1000 weeks made foreign headlines. And so many other reasons.

You think Obama has time to read these mags and even remember who made it to cover? 😆

Gazillion icons cover international media daily. The President has more to pay attention to, than lists of rich celebs or popularity rankings. Or icons of all local communities that have settled in the USA.
