Day 02 - Least favourite film

Since it's least favourite and not hate, I'll go for a film that I had expected to like but didn't.

I Hate Luv Storys

Typical cheesy KJo style romcom, which normally I would have no problem watching. But Imran and Sonam had no zero charm to pull this off. Sonam's squeaky, mousy voice was irritating. The 'when I'm sad, I wear glasses' line made me . Imran's dialogue delivery is very bad. Nothing about the film made be give a damn about the characters.

Another thing that irritated me was the film that they were making within the film was just a copy of various scenes from popular Bollywood romantic films. If the aim of the film was to spoof romcoms, it was a very lazy way of doing it. 👎🏼

Day 1: Favorite Movie

My Cousin Vinny

This is a comedy that I never get tired off. I can watch it over and over again and it still is utterly hilarious and entertaining. Joe Pesci who is renown for his Italian mafioso roles, has impeccable comic timing as Vinny. He is more Brooklyn greaser than a lawyer, and thats what makes the role. The show stealer though is Marisa Tomei as Mona Lisa Vito. She rightfully won an Oscar for the role. You will never forget her court testimonial, it will have you roaring in laughter as well as be awestruck by her badass attitude. Throw in Ralph Macchio the Karate Kid for a minor role and its cherry on the icing.

This movie is built on sharp humor. It really harnesses the Yankee and Souther stereotypes to create comedy that is intelligent rather than offensive. Ala-f**king-bama may have an issue or two. But who really cares about Ala-f**king-bama?

Day 2: Least Favorite Movie

The Matrix

One of the most overrated movies of all time. Keanu Reeve's has a smaller range of facial expressions than Vladimir Putin. Personally, I did not care for the plot. The narrative was dull and slow. I didn't really buy the philosophy meets sci-fi plot. Other movies have done it better. All the movie has going for it is a few slick action sequences and Trinity. I will never understand the hype around it.
