Do you think we will ever win an oscar?

Numbers should favour us but time and again its proven that its about quality and not quantity. Each year India makes 1000s of films and have received only 3 nominations so far with not a single win. Italy however makes about 150 films annually and has won oscar like 14 times.

Who cares? We have Aascars...

I dont care if India ever wins oscar or not. i just want india and particularly Hindi film industry to make films of the quality of some of the foreign films from european countries (France etc) and Japan ... oscar is irrelevant..
and if HW really thinks that Slumdog truly deserves the oscar and IS better than every Indian film ever made then i would rather india never wins oscar... if it is so then QUALITY of indian films must not be the criteria preventing HW from acknowledging indian films as I think Slumdof was at the best an average film and India has made many many better films than slumdog...

Matthermcconaughey and Ben Affleck have actually worked on acting skills instead of just focusing on body.

Nah I saw how to loose a guy in 10 days and that was a wrap for me .

Although Affleck did impress me in Argo

As for whether any Indian movie would win an Oscar? I don't know. All the jury members are basically past winners and nominees. So they are mostly American or westerners who probably cannot relate to an Indian movie or the cultural references in Indian films as easily. Having said that last year or the year before an Iranian movie won. So ... Wait and hope I guess.

I never saw Milk but I saw Mystic River and that film was good

I don't know Paltrow is decent or she was in the Iron Man movies I never saw Shakesphere in love

I just don't think it makes sense Mcconaughy has a gold statue while Tom Cruise , will smith , robert Downey jr , Leo Dicaprio don't .

They gave slumdog millionaire an oscar . Its such an over rated movie and over rated awards
