It was one rickshaw ride that changed Sidharth Malhotra's life. He came to Mumbai for a film that never took off, but he was managing well with modelling assignments coming his way. He was on the verge of signing an offer with a top brand when the clear blue skies and a bumpy ride gave him an idea which he could not get out his head. He wanted to learn basic acting and filmmaking skills. Once the idea consumed him, he went straight to Karan Johar's office.

Sidharth Malhotra was born and brought up in New Delhi. He studied at Don Bosco School, Delhi and completed B. COM from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) part of University of Delhi.

He was a ramp model during his college days. He has been associated with brands like NIIT, Color Plus & Pantaloons. He has walked the ramps for designers like Manish Malhotra and Rohit Bal.

He has modeled even in Paris and Dubai. Malhotra was seen in Roberto Cavalli's advertisement campaigns and also surfaced on the covers of several magazines like RedBook, Gladrags and Men's Health.

He came into limelight with Karan Johar's movie Student of the year along with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.

Malhotra was next paired opposite Parineeti Chopra and Adah Sharma for the romantic comedy Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), which tells the love story of a drug-abusing scientist and an under-confident aspiring businessman. Mohar Basu of Koimoi found his performance to be "restrained" and described his chemistry with Chopra as "lively" and "heartfelt"; Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV praised his screen presence and compared it to the early work of Amitabh Bachchan.The film performed moderately well at the box office, with global revenues of 620 million (US$9.7 million).

His second release in 2014 was the Mohit Suri-directed romantic thriller Ek Villain. Malhotra was cast as Guru, a hardened criminal whose terminally-ill wife (played by Shraddha Kapoor) is murdered by a serial killer (played by Riteish Deshmukh). Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express reviewed: "Sidharth Malhotra is watchable even if he has a hard time doing menace " he just seems so nice and wholesome all the time, even when he is crunching bones." The film eventually emerged as a major commercial success with domestic revenues of over 1 billion (US$16 million). The box office performance of the film established Malhotra as one of the most successful among the new generation of Bollywood actors.

As of October 2014, Malhotra is filming alongside Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez and Jackie Shroff for a remake of the Hollywood film Warrior (2011), entitled Brothers, to be directed by Karan Malhotra. He has also committed to play a superhero in Vikramaditya Motwane's social drama Bhavesh Joshi, and a time traveler in debutant director Nitya Mehra's untitled science fiction film, opposite Katrina Kaif.

A birthday can be seen as a serious or joyful time depending on one's age and one's attitude towards life. Another year has passed and we look back on failures and successes. Sidharth sharing his experience after SOTY

"One week after the release of the film, we went to two malls in Mumbai, to promote the film. By this time we were actually tired of the promotions and were getting pakaoed by it. We were expecting about 300 people or so and we thought we would interact with them and ask them to dance. But when we reached the first mall, we found a difference in the energy of everyone, right from the person who was opening the door for us. That was the first time we thought that we actually need security because it was really crowded. When Alia, Varun and I entered, the roar that went out in the crowd, we were not expecting it. There were about 800-900 people in the mall and the big difference was that now, these guys had seen our film. And by now, they had made their choice that "I like this boy" or "I like this film". You know that they are rooting for you. I think I had the most amount of fun dancing for them that day, because anything we would do, they would start cheering. This really helped our confidence and gave us a boost; this is the power of Bollywood in India. I think, especially for me, I realised that I could have very easily been in the audience. Who would've thought that coming from Delhi and trying to make it films, one day I would be standing on a stage and get this kind of a response from the audience? It was a great moment; it was the best feeling to watch people cheer and take your name. I think that's what every actor aspires for. There is nothing that can compare to that high."

Villain who ruled hearts:

Sidharth Malhotra who started his career with modelling is now a star and ruler of many girls' hearts (including me ) .

He has performed in three Bollywood movies . Though his acting career has just started and only three movies are released of his , in every movie we got to see his new avatar.

Like in SOTY we were attracted to the character of Abhimanyu Singh , a middle class boy with lots of dreams who had strength to fulfill them all .

His character showed that when u are ambitious, no one can stop u from achieving what u want .

The Vela boy surely did not fail to make girls go crazy over him .

Next he was seen in Hasee toh Phasee with Parineeti Chopra where he played a chocolatey boy role . A romantic lover , simple yet attractive .

Now the movie for which he got critical acclaim was Ek Villian . We got to see our chocolatey lover boy in a totally new look . Aggressive, dangerous man who had a soft heart. This sexy look of his and his character, God ! I got crazy for that and I know not only me but everyone else also .

2014 came to end and we will wait for 2015 and Sid 's new movies with new avatars . And on this joyful day of his b day just want to say one thing to all Siddharthians

U love Sid ? Then do not stop it ! Cause u know he's got that one thing !
