I don't know why Kangana is boycotting. She may not have had it easy in the industry, but she has never been overlooked. Her talent has been universally and critically acclaimed. It seems silly and whimsical of her.

Leonardo Di Caprio - epitome of grace and sportsmanship. Never won an award, but is always there cheering enthusiastically for the winners.

Are you seriously comparing the likes of Golden Globe or the Academy Awards to the tripe over here??Aamir too attended the event when Lagaan was nominated for the Oscars.

It has nothing to do with his ego, its about the quality of the said event. Which we all know is beyond pathetic, be it film-fare or anything thing else.

Infact the greatest thing Aamir has done in his career is to expose the hypocrisy and corruption in industry, especially politics in awards.

The other Khan hinted here is obviously SRK.😆 He will break Dilip Kumar's record of most best actor awards. But difference is one got awards, another bought many of them.

Awards are just TV shows now. Stale. Same old acts, same old jokes and digs. Nowadays they invite TV actors also for more eyeballs.

Public doesn't take them seriously. It is timepass viewing on weekends now.

There are so many awards every weekend now that one doesn't even know them by name, can't even distinguish.

They should start selling awards on vendors now. Like that Nana Patekar scene in Welcome where he is pushing a rehri and shouting Aloo le lo!😆

what's the point in attending these awards ceremonies where talent is being mocked...now the one who attends them,the one who performs gets an award and even special categories r made just to please the star...and have lost the count on number of awards ceremonies that r held every weekend 😆...

Aamir was ignored for a senior too. Anil got for Beta and he did not get for JJWS.

He had issue with Khalid Mohammad who was the editor of Filmfare then and deliberately misquoted both him and RGV to cause controversy over Rangeela. He banned media also then.

That year Screen gave award for best actor to SRK for Ram Jaane which was neither a hit nor an acclaimed film. This further raised questions on credibility of awards.

Awards had dubious critieria on each star. If SRK got awards for DDLJ or KKHH for popularity then why not Salman for MPK, HAHK for same reason? Why not Aamir for Dil and QSQT? When others gave biggest hits or popular films, the jury suddenly thought of honouring only critically acclaimed performance! Ajay Devgan was almost always robbed of awards. At best they gave him some critics award. Sunny Deol didn't get awards no matter if he gave biggest grosser or won National Award!

Paresh Rawal often hasn't even received nominations for many of his acts. They didn't nominate him for AAA. Flop is no excuse because SRK got an award for flop Anjaam and Sridevi got best actress for flop Lamhe.

The inconsistencies of awards are obvious. I don't think Aamir was selfish to ban awards and media and risk his career given how much visibility these things provide to a star.
