But Aamir has basically made it known that he doesn't trust nor respects the Bollywood awards like FF, IIFA, Zee etc. I don't think he has any objections to National Award though. Let me make it clear to you and other inferior mortals on here why Shahid is deserving of that award.

To play a human being going through so much turmoil and to showcase the emotions in a way Shahid did is something we can understand and therefore judge better unlike the weird alien played out by Aamir cuz none of us are from PK's planets and not sure exactly which way he should show his emotions. Also I believe the looks was a very strong point in Aamir's role. Only a peculiar looking midget like Aamir can pull off that character cuz I don't see how a tall dark handsome guy do Aamir's role in equal aplomb. Aamir depended on his looks severely and that certainly takes a big chunk of a credit away from his acting. So overall I'd opt for Shahid any day.
