I think the point of blast scene was to show the devastating effects to which religion can be misused. Way more serious than rituals shown earlier. "Agents" use it to brainwash people and spread hatred. PK is unaware of all that and suddenly loses his best friend for no reason.

I agree about the climax..I thought I walked into a Karan Johar film. Not only was it filmy, it was also really flimsy/weak. I got the message about how we tend to easily believe the worst and are misguided by our prejudices, but the whole way he brought Sarfaraz back was a little too much. I can't imagine why these two, or atleast even one of them, wouldn't bother calling each other even once to see what's up...especially Sarfaraz who believed that Jaggu would call. What a weak relationship!

About the blast, yes that makes sense..but I think it needed to be expanded a little more to make more of a point. Maybe they didn't have enough time...as anyways this whole issue needs a film of its own.

PK 8th Day (2nd Friday) Collection Early Estimates

PK has collected a huge 13-13.5 crore nett on 2nd Friday (8th day) at box office as per early estimates. Film started well on 2nd week and put up huge number again for the day. Now film is very much on its way to score 50 in 2nd weekend. PK started well on 2nd Friday in Morning shows. After that film showed decent jump with every passing show and is full on from evening onward. PK total collection after 8 days is approx 196-196.5 crore nett mark.

PK will cross 200 crore nett today (2nd Saturday) and even cross lifetime business of Happy New Year and 3 Idiots in 9 days flat. PK is trending exceedingly well now and is set for breaking records in coming days. Film might have collect little lower than Dhoom 3 in 1st week, but is almost certain to break all records of Dhoom 3 from now on.

Collection Breakup -

1st Week - 182.95 crore nett.
2nd Friday - 13-13.5 crore nett (est).

Total - 195.95-196.45 crore nett (approx).

I have always wanted Aamir to do a sci-fi film. IMO he is the only actor who can pull it off the way a sci-fi is meant to be.

The story and the quality will be top notch too.They just need to get the techinal experts from hollywood.

PK and 3I sequel. These two are almost certain. The only thing remaining is an official anouncement.

Farhan's time traveller one.

Also he has confirmed his next directoral venture. Its titled Barf.

Just look at the variety and the scope of these projects.Dont think anyone else can match upto this.

Damn excited. Just don't take too long Aamir.

PK 2nd Friday -8th Day Box Office Collections: All Time Highest Record

PK 8th day 2nd Week Friday Box Office collection is 12-13 cr taking the 8 days total collections to 195 cr. The Day 8 business has seen a record 50 % drop from first Friday which is just impeccable in today's times. PK will easily touch 200 cr tomorrow i.e in 9 days making it the fastest 200 cr film along with Dhoom 3 and will beat the lifetime collections of 3 Idiots, the duo's last outing together

The film dropped by around 45-50 % in single screens whereas 50-55 % in multiplexes. The movie is all set to have a record second weekend and week and it will beat the record of Dhoom 3 by a very big margin. The movie has shown fantastic occupancy even on its eight day and the first day is better than the first day Friday collections of 95 % of Bollywood films released this year. Pk 2nd Friday is less than the first Friday of Happy New Year, PK, Kick, Bang Bang, Gunday and might come go ahead of Holiday too.

Monday :- 21.22 cr

PK Set To Breach Important Benchmark

PK is set to breach an important benchmark and it is this benchmark which makes 300 crore nett possible. There has always been talk of the 300 crore nett grosser over the last 2-3 years but despite the talk by midweek you knew it was not possible as the trend meant this benchmark will not be achieved.

The key benchmark is a 100 crore nett plus total after the first week. We have not reached the stage where a 200 crore nett first week is achievable (average of 28.50 crore nett per day) so you know that a 300 crore nett is not going to happen unless it can go well over 100 crore nett after the first week.

The only film to achieve 100 crore nett after the first week was 3 Idiots but it was at a time when the releases were not as wide and sustaining power was a bit longer. After that teh closest to a 100 crore nett total after week one has been Dhoom 3 with 87 crore nett but that's not enough for a 300 crore nett finish.

Now for the first time since 3 Idiots a film is about to go above 100 crore nett after week one which means the 300 crore nett figure a possibility. In fact PK is likely to do more than what 3 Idiots did after week one meaning the film should easily go over 300 crore nett. As just two films have (will) achieved this benchmark and that too from the same director it means that the 300 crore nett figure is out of range unless most until we get to the stage where we can average 30 crore nett plus a day in the first week and get 210 crore nett plus total on the board.

This should be regular possibility for the event films in a couple of years but of course with the help of holidays.

PK Chances Of 50 Crore Second Weekend - Day Eight Rock Steady

PK may set a new benchmark of a 50 crore nett second weekend which would be a first and to put this number into perspective is that only two films have crossed 50 crore nett in the whole second week.

The film has grossed a huge 13 crore nett as per early estimates on its eight day and this gives it a shot of getting 50 crore nett in its second weekend. The film did not have that huge start with only South India being up to expectations on day one but from Sunday when the family audiences came the film has broken records everywhere.The fall from day one is likely to be around 50%.

The film is on a dream run now and on course to set records in most circuits including Mumbai where 3 Idiots still holds the all time record. A few of the smaller circuits do not look like hitting record levels at the moment but if it goes on a run into week four and week five then record totals could happen everywhere.
