Salman is a gentle soul in real life and even when he has to
play a kind character, his generosity of spirit translates on
screen! Salman can light up every frame as Prem, just by
talking with his gentle eyes! He may seem like a "bad boy"
in real life but the fact that he has a heart of gold reflects
on reel as well!
The warm smile:
Go back to Salman's very first Barjatya film, Maine Pyaar
Kiya. Now think of a lean Salman, and his warm smile that
makes your heart all fuzzy. More than the dialogues he
mouths it is his warm smile that has become synonymous
with the character of Prem, be it the ditsy Prem Bhopali in
Andaaz Apna Apna or the know-it-all relationship advisor
Prem Love Guru in Partner, the smile remains consistent
and necessary to Prem's character!
The shy and coy gentleman:
Be it Hum Aapke Hain Koun or Hum Saath Saath Hain, we
wouldn't have imagined anyone to play the role of a kind,
shy and coy gentleman with the same finesse as Salman.
Salman never has to be cheap or vulgar in his romance,
and we love how that old-school quality in him makes him
the perfect Prem!
The poster boy of classy romance:
And when we say that about Salman, we are strictly talking
about his portrayal of romance as Prem in the variety of
Barjatya films he has done in his career including the
forthcoming Prem Ratan Dhan Payo where he would be
playing a Prince!
Because Shahid Kapoor wasn't as good:
Shahid did play the role of Prem in the Rajshri movie
Vivaah but to be honest we weren't quite satisfied with his
chocolate boy looks and his gentle dialogue delivery. We
missed Salman as Prem and now we are really glad to see
him come back to that domain.
