I was watching Bigg Boss the other day when Sonam came there and there was this instance where on being asked which actress she would date she said Katrina and said that she likes Katrina's legs. Salman pretended to be trying to remember how Katrina's legs looked and then said yeah I agree she had good legs...I though that was pretty disrespectful and inconsiderate of him considering she is committed to someone else now.

I have seen him do this a couple of times with her i.e refer to their relationship and crack jokes on it. Apparently he did it during Arpita's wedding as well. I have heard him referring to his and Sangeeta's relationship too and talk about stuff that they did then.

BUT I have never seen him refer to Aishwarya in that disrespectful manner. Whenever someone brings her up he corrects them pretty sternly saying "Aishwarya Rai Bachchan" sought of warning them that she is married now and they should proceed with caution when talking about her. He answers questions about her or brings her name up but never refers their past relationship. In fact in one of the interviews when asked about how he reacts on meeting his exes he said that he likes to maintain a distance so that it does not become awkward for the current people in his exes life and they start thinking oh this guy had a relationship with my gf/wife and feel weird about it. He was obviously referring to Aishwariya since he is in touch with all his exes other than her.

So I was wondering what makes her different to his other exes? Why does he extend a greater respect and consideration to her that he does not do to his other exes? Why is the otherwise "i care a damn" Salman still so careful about maintaining her respect and dignity? And this is in spite of the fact that his break with her was more ugly and controversial than the others.

Makes me wonder if he still somewhere holds a torch for her in his heart?

That's because Aishwarya is the only one he loved after Somy. Everyone else after was a rebound, hence he keeps dissing them. Doesn't excuse his behavior at all. He's a jerk to women. But that's his rationale.😆 Also, Aishwarya is the only one who stood up for herself, filed an FIR at the police station against him and ditched him for good. She refused to take his unfaithful, abusive ass for too long. Any man however f**ked up will eventually respect such a woman especially if there were romantic feelings involved. Katrina still takes his shit, therefore in his mind, he has no reason to respect her.

If i slap you or mock you and you still remain the same to me..i won't respect you but treat you as a property..people should be dignified to take a stand which only rai did. She showed him she won't take his shit even when she didn't have a bachchan tag and that won her respect. You got to respect yourself before others can respect you

I agree salman is extremely disrespectful attimes but those women have acted like a doormat to him..may be they should seek some inspiration from rai.

True that!!!

He does respect the fact that she stood up for herself and her family. I remember there was this interview from during the time that they were dating and there was the news about him banging her door etc. He said that he had disrespected her father and she was angry with him because of that. He said that he completely agreed with her anger because he would have been equally angry had someone disrespected his father, and he also says that he LOVED the fact that she was such a family person and stood up for her family. He said that was one of the reason he "loved" her.

And you are right...once all the heat has died down any man will respect a woman who respects herself.
