In his next film Fan, Shah Rukh Khan is said to be playing a commoner, who is a fan of a superstar, who happens to be none other than himself - Shah Rukh Khan. A case of fact meeting fiction, real life meeting reel life and lines between reality and the surreal getting blurred, Fan seems like the apt milestone in the career of King Khan, who has been active in the world of films for 25 years.
However when at home with his family, he is a totally different man. As Shah Rukh Khan says, " At home, I am just a regular guy. ( Smiles) As a matter of fact, no one at home ever asks me how my day at the shoot was or how the weekend collections of my latest film turned out to be. I also never initiate such conversations. I am not as good or bad as it may seem to people from the outside. My family knows me best." The doting father of three kids, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam, feels that being his children they will have both advantages and disadvantages.
" This is the reason why I want my children to study abroad. I would like them to be around me here in Mumbai, and I do miss my son who is abroad but then you have to make those choices. We as parents made one," says Shah Rukh.
Commenting on the constant scrutiny in his children's lives, SRK says that being a superstar, he very often gets surrounded by an out- of- control crowd, which is not good for his children.
" You know how it is. I have security guards with me all the time ( laughs). It is sometimes embarrassing to go like this to a friend's place where first a gypsy comes, then my car behind it and then two other guys accompany me.
Ab kya karein? It needs to be like that. It is not because I am scared of people. I love them. But as parents, we want our kids to lead as normal a life as possible." Speaking about his three kids, SRK adds, " My children will always s u f f e r from my s h a d o w . You can't do anything about it.
You can either be a superstar or w o d e r about such things. They would have to learn to live with it. It is an unfortunate thing because whatever good or bad happens to them, it would always be a little larger than life."
