Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt along with the lead actors of his forthcoming production, Khamoshiyan' - Ali Fazal, newcomers Sapna Pabbi and Gurmeet Choudhary talked about their film at the Screen Preview on Wednesday (January 6).

Khamoshiyan', which is said to be an erotic-thriller is already much spoken about, much ahead of its release. Fukrey' actor Ali Fazal, who plays the role of Kabir in the film, spoke about his experience working with the Bhatt clan. "I think it has been quite a challenging journey. I remember the first time that I walked in the Vishesh Films' office. It was intimidating with Mahesh Bhatt, Mukesh Bhatt, Vishesh Bhatt and Karan Dara. But they push you, there are times that they will be rude to you, they are going to be harsh. But there are times that they are going to be sweet as well and you don't even realize it," said the Fukrey' actor.

Pretty girl Sapna Pabbi, who has previously appeared in hit television series, 24' said: "I am very new to the industry. And I'm so grateful for this opportunity. It's been a great journey and I've been guided by so many around me." Talking about her character Meera, in the film, Sapna said, "The character I play has so many different shades and layers. I got to do so much. I couldn't ask for a better start."

The second male lead in the film is television poster boy, Gurmeet Choudhary, who is marking his Bollywood debut with Khamoshiyan'. "I would like to say that I'm a big fan of Mahesh Bhatt," said the actor. "I got a lot of love and support when I was on TV. This is a new start for me. Of course I am nervous, but, I'm with good people and I've worked from my heart." However, he declined to talk about his role, "I can't say anything about my character now," said Gurmeet.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt spoke at length about the conscious decision of his production house to work with newcomers and not stars. "In 1998, I hung my boots as a director and we decided that the world was changing but the film industry wasn't. We were entering the Information Age'. That's when we decided not to work with stars but to work with young people and have faith in Young India.

Mahesh Bhatt also talked about the erotic-super-natural genre that his films are famous for. "As a filmmaker I had the guts to move away from stereotypes. With Khamoshiyan', we are re-visiting what we introduced back then."

On their partnership with Fox Star Studios, Mahesh Bhatt said, "I am very happy to have partnered with Fox. There's a silent respect for what we are. We don't have to be something else. And so, we make so many diverse films."

Talking about his strategy to communicate the idea of the film prior to its release without giving the plot away, Mahesh Bhatt said, "People buy sensation. Through an actor or a film, they purchase emotions. Good content is like blood in a shark cage. You are not what you think you are, you are only what you feel. So, once we make films like these, we have to make sure to communicate it. Once I get people in the hall and they sample what I have, then I know word-of-mouth takes over." CEO of Fox Star Studios, Vijay Singh also shared his thoughts. "Audiences are smarter than us. You cannot fool them, so you got to capture them," he said. Gurmeet Choudhary may have played the holier than thou Lord Ram in Ramayan but looks like he is now all set to portray the more colorful traits of Lord Krishna in his Bollywood debut. The actor has shed his inhibitions and more as he smooches his co-star Sapna Pabbi to glory in Khamoshiyan. For those wanting to see this bold and sensual side, the newly released song, Bheegh Loon is what you should tune into. The handsome Gurmeet can be seen stealing mouthful of kisses with the hot Sapna Pabbi as the mellifluous tunes of the song are played in the background.

At the music launch of the film yesterday, the actor was likened to serial kisser Emraan Hashmi and asked if he would like to become the next Emraan Hashmi given his propensity to kiss regularly in the movie. A smiling Gurmeet took it as a compliment and said, "Why not? I would like to be the next Emraan Hashmi for the Bhatt camp. But there are a lot of other talents that I would like to display. I know action and dance well. This is just the beginning."

Gurmeet also expressed his happiness at being launched by Mahesh Bhatt & Co. "When you get launched by the Bhatt camp, what else can you ask for? During my TV days, my friends used to tell me that if you ever want to do films, do it with the Bhatts because their music will always be a big hit. So I consider myself lucky."

While Gurmeet has always been a hit among women, the actor revealed yesterday that he not only enjoys but also wishes for more female attention. " Whenever I sit in my car, I keep an eye out to see if women have recognized me. Who doesn't want female attention? And my wife Debina is also happy about all the female attention that I receive," said Gurmeet.
