the things were not done in legal way..the accused were not called and their justifications were not heared.its was all due to enmity with the channel.and Govt from Gilgit Baltistan (that are considered backward areas of Pakistan)sent warrant.so basically ppl are making hullabaloo of this situation and nothing will happen.and in matter of laws Pakistan is no way different than India..ppl dont get punishments so easily.yes there is a law of giving punishment on blasphemy..bt if they really started giving punishments to the ppl regarding blasphemy then every 2nd person will be in jail becoz there are lots of misconceptions.lots of ppl have different opinions ..some consider the things are blasphemy while the same picture is different for other ppl .so better not making assumptions about ISLAM.and leave this topic.

Let's leave it to the sentient individuals to decide if they want to respect or disrespect their Creator, or if they want to believe in Him/Her in the first place. You cannot be forcing your beliefs on anyone.

Read the article again.Nothing of that sort is written that someone was forced to accept something.
Even that is a basic right of human that his/her beliefs are respected and no one hurt his/her religious sentiments and that too deliberately

Believe, damn it! Believe, or you die.

I doubt any God condones that. How about let Allah deal with the issues of of faith rather than taking them upon ourselves to deal with, eh?

Told you buddy. There is alot that may be we don't know about this "26 years jail" punishment

ok yeah everything is wrong in Pakistan but then why do you people care so much about that country and religion Islam?
Do you understand what are the sentiments of muslims where Veena Malik was portrayed as Hazrat Fatima (R.A),in that Qawali song. Bibi Fatima (RA) is THE most respected women in the history of Islam. I understand in Hindu religion it is believed that there are different avatars of GOD and idols are being worshipped hence it is not clear to the people here at indiaforums that why it is considered such a big deal. But Islam is completely different and forbids everyone from making pictures of religious personalities. Now if Islam is THAT strict in this aspect then how could you portray Veena Malik (the girl who's actions were not considered appropriate even according to Indian culture) as Hazrat Fatima (RA) the daughter of our beloved Holy Prophet (SAWW), the wife of Hazrat Ali (RA) and the mother of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA). Even that thought is considered as blasphemy then every other thing comes later...

I know my statement would be dissected and made fun of but why do people criticize the people who respect religion? Each religion should be respected and the sentiments of people shouldn't get hurt. Apart from that I request to the people to dont jump to the conclusions without knowing the background. I assume that the people sitting in the courts have better knowledge of law and religion as compared to the people sitting here behind computer screens wasting their lives discussing bollywood stars and trolling their fans.

And to be honest this is not the best place to discuss religion and how things progress in one country. If you consider Pakistan as your enemy then that doesnt give you an authority to criticize its personal matters.

Love and Peace!!

No one was portraying anything. It was an honest mistake. It's not like Veena and the celebs did a skit. that I would understand. They were NOT purposely making fun of anything.

Someone played a qawali in the background that was religious, yes, and these celebs, honestly, didn't even look like they were listening to it. They were doing their own thing. They were doing rasams, joota chupayi that we all do. It was an HONEST mistake and I hate it when people try to make such a big hoopla over mazhab. Abbe, first follows he FIRST THINGS that Islam teaches you, which is respect, tolerance, and most of all, how to be good and kind to one another. But no, who cares about those things right? Let's just pick up the pitchforks and lynch the damn folks that DARE make mistakes. Because it's OUR RIGHT and OUR RESPONSIBILITY to judge who is a good muslim and who committed blasphemy.
I'm a Muslim too btw, but I also would like to emphasize that there are a lot of things Islam teaches, good things, that people just kinda overlook. Why is it, that whenever its time to punish someone, or criticize someone, people all of a sudden remember Islam? There's so much good the faith also offers, but for some reason, our people are so emotional they kinda lose the point of it. They lose the point of the faith. And suddenly it's all about pride, jazba, izzat, sentiments, emotions.

I'm also Pakistani, but I hate to think that my country has become associated with a group of crazies where if you even mistakenly do something, your life, your career, everything is over.
Someone said it right. It was a rival channel that roused everyone up by making it seem like it something blasphemous when it wasn't.

ha ha... the name of the court is "anti-terrorism" court. Its weird. How is blasphemy, a terrorist activity? The hurtful remarks if directed against God, will not make the God a victim of terrorism. A far remote accusation in relevancy of crime. I wonder on the administration of justice in Pakistan. If its correct that till today, no one got handed down sentencing on terrorism. Its creepy justice.
A new joke by pakistan court...the terrorist are left free and this small offence is punished with 26 years

26 years for blasphemy and the likes of murderers aka Showbaz Sharif, Chaudhary Nisar, Nawaz Sharif etc etc still lurking around betraying our Pakistani people and messing up the country from influence outside.

I dislike Veena and Geo TV but they get punished for which could have been sorted through a fine or a ban but when we have the real culprits in our country free handed we do nothing.
