this is one of my fav movies of the year This year I have only liked Queen and Ek Villain. (pretty sure Haider will join that list but I have not seen it)
I loved the story, the music and all of the performances. I loved Shraddha in this one, she was not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. She was the much needed comic relief in the film.
I only liked Ritesh in the final scene, when he imitates Shraddha and says "im prengnat" that scene was haunting and he should get an award just for that scene!
Sid was a HUGE improvement, and for me he moved up a couple notches on my list and defiantly above Arjun and Varun.

The movie definitely didnt live up to the expectations the trailer gave..It didnt deliver up to the hype brought in by promotions...Still EV is not as bad as ppl in this forum make it out to be..The movie is trashed unfairly while some mediocre ones are hailed more than necessary..In real world,EV got a mixed to positive WOM..Biggest minus was the absence of real gob-smacking suspense...they promoted the movie as a thriller but the actual content belonged to revenge drama genre..The story line was alright its the screenplay and execution that faltered..Main cast was good but the supporting actors were lacklustre(which is a big negative when u consider how much the presence of strong supporting cast aided movies like 2 states,HSKD etc)..Also it didnt have comic elements or any other entertaining factors to generate repeat value..Music was the biggest plus..Saved movie for the major part...RD was good,a role that can be turning point in his career...Sid has improved leaps and bounds...Loved the confrontation scenes b/w him and RD..I loved his scenes with the kid too..Tears welled up so bad during those jeep, church scenes...I hardly cry while watching movies, but HTP's and EV's climax somehow made me tear up and thats when I realise I connect to Sid very well onscreen..He has the connect now he just has to hon his acting skills a bit more.
B/w There is no point denying Sid's contribution in the B.O collections of EV😆.Many authorized trade websites credited his fan following and his chemistry with Shradha as the crowd pulling factor of EV,besides music, brand Mohit and RD's negative character after being attempting comic scrappers for odd 10 yrs.EV could've sustained well after the huge opening only if the movie had repeat value.

I wanted to watch it for Sid(to drool) and Ritesh(for his acting)...but dropped the idea after reading it's storyline and review in The Hindu. I even read it's plot on Wikipedia... so depressing :( ...not for people who get easily carrried away.

Mohit Suri is overrated and Ev was dissapoitment in terms of story what saved the movie was SidM and Ritesh's acting and the music of course!

Movie was crap, Riteish was good. I didn't like Shraddha's character in it but Shraddha's presence in the songs and trailers is what contributed a huge deal to the earnings. She has a mass appeal. She along with the songs (Galliyan unlugged) and 'from the makers of Aashiqui2' tag were the major factors for a grand opening of the film. Otherwise the movie is pure rubbish.
