Award winning actor Dhanush, who made his debut in Bollywood with 'Raanjhana' has just wrapped up the shooting of his second Hindi film 'Shamitabh'. The latest buzz is that, the film which has Dhanush, Akshara Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan in lead will also have yesteryear sensation and an evergreen beauty Rekha.

An excited Dhanush tweeted, "LOOK whom I'm sharing screen space with in shamitabh. The one and only REKHA JI !!! #beautyforever."

Director Balki has made this official and after ages, Rekha will be in the same film as Amitabh. After pairing up with Shruti Haasan in '3', Dhanush is romancing Kamal Haasan's younger daughter Akshara Haasan in the film. Balki's regular cast Ilayaraja and PC Sriram take the music & cinematography chair respectively as well. Shamitabh will be released worldwide on 6th Feb 2015.

The upcoming mutli-starrer Shamitabh is going to have Amitabh & Rekha once again sharing the screen after 30 years.

Hyderabad: The long wait for the audience to see Amitabh & Rekha once again together on screen is coming to an end. The hit pair of 1970's is going to appear once again together in Shamitabh.

The R Balki directorial venture Shamitabh is nothing less than multi-starrer and is having Amitabh & Rekha besides others in lead roles.

The director has been fond of having Amitabh in all his movies and he did all his movies with Big B in the lead role. His Cheeni Kum', Paa' are having Amitabh in important roles and both the movies received good response at the box office.

Balki is also associated with another great movie English Vinglish'. This movie was directed by his wife Gauri Shinde whereas Balki was the producer for the movie. This movie got famous as re-entry movie for bollywood beauty queen Sri Devi.

The new project Shamitabh is being produced with Dhanush & Akshara Hassan also in the lead roles. Dhanush became famous in Bollywood as son-in-law of Rajnikant (south India super star) and Akshara is the daughter of Kamalhasan's daughter and she is younger to Shrutihasan who already became popular in Telugu, Tamil & Hindi movies.

Shamitabh is also having speciality as the movie is produced by as many producers under their respective production house banners.

South Indian music maestro Ilaya Raja is once again associating with Balki for rendering music for Shamitabh. Balki went on record to say that Ilayaraja has been his inspiration and his favourite music director.

Special appearance in the movie Shamitabh is having presence of famous directors like Mahesh Bhat, Karan Johar, Rajkumar Hirani, Gauri Shinde, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra etc. Other positive weights of the movie include photography by PC Sreeram.

Shamitabh is scheduled to world-wide release on 6th February 2015.

For a while now, Amitabh has been warming upto Rekha. First that pic in the airplane, then greeting her during some award ceremony and now this. This buddha knows that his Bachchan brand is dying as he and his son aren't getting much good work these days. Ash is yet to make her comeback. Buddha is using Rekha now .. stupid Rekha .. get some dignity woman.

Rekha mainly uses Bachchans to fuel aura around her. She does all crazy antics such as turning up with sindoor if Bachchan is attending same function. Till date if she is in news it is only due to the rumours related to Bachchan, like she promoted Super naani with PR claiming she had copied Amitabh in a scene. In past also she was the one who spoke most about them without even being asked!

I agree Bachchan brand is in need of spark but the buddah is doing fine for his age. Otherwise this age Bollywood actors fade out in anonymity and penury. Crisis is due to nikamma son. Buddah is already a legend whose brand won't die. He frankly doesn't even need to work if does not want to. If it is question of legacy then yes, they are losing on that front (shame that his son is just a flowerpot guy now).

Whatever each Bachchan is, they are much better off than Rekha and certainly don't need to use her for publicity now.

Who knows if they are acting together or not? It is a film on industry I suppose this is why many are making appearances in it.

They had appearance in OSO also but it was separate.
