Kashmir is a flash point not easy for anyone to unravel . We need to understand that not all Muslims are bad and neither are all Hindus good. The good and the bad co-exist in society and that dilemma gets magnified tenfold in Kashmir as it has remained the unresolved enigma of our country with so much Inter border intervention. As a result all have suffered manifold and continue to do so...unfortunately this year a natural disaster of mammoth scale escalated the suffering further.
The Army is an institution and tries to maintain order but as in any institution excesses will occur and these need to be identified and corrected.
It is the breed of politicians that prey on wounded emotions not letting any semblance of sanctity to return to the valley which must be one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth.
As elsewhere it is the common man who is the sufferer as they try their best to live a normal life ...and the blood of the common man is easily dispensed with.
VB has made a valiant attempt and I found the movie remarkable in effort.I did not get the feeling that he was demonizing the Army or eulogizing the terrorist / separatist.
He was purely presenting the case of a normal family caught in the web and unable to extricate itself from it ..getting ground to smithereens between the nexus ...like wheat turning to atta in a chakki .
Such an effort needs to be applauded even if you disagree as cinema is a medium that elucidates the message increasing awareness .
If you disagree present the other side ..we will be waiting. Just do not compel others to hide the dust under the carpet .
And this is the power of democracy ..everyone can yet present their case unlike elsewhere where common voices are muzzled out.
