I freaking loved it...watched the movie today in a packed hall at a suburban Kolkata multiplex & it was AMAZING . I had very very low expectations from this movie when I was entering the hall . But, at the end I left with so much satisfaction & happiness . Fawad Khan was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC & very very convincing as the Rajput prince Bikram Singh Rathore & Sonam has very good chemistry with her co-star .

Fawad Khan, one of the most popular actors in Pakistan, says the film industry in his homeland has evolved since the release of his debut filmKhuda Kay Liyein 2007. Things are looking up now.
The actor forayed into movies at a time when Pakistan's film industry was in absolute doldrums.
"When I didKhuda Kay Liye, it was one of the few films being made in the country. The fact that it went on to earn itself so much recognition across the world was totally unforeseen," said the actor.
"It is only now that the Pakistani film industry is on a revival course. There is some quality work happening and I am glad to be part of it," he added.
It was the very evolved television industry in Pakistan, which helped him make up his mind about acting career.
"I got some wonderful opportunities on television and they helped me discover the actor within me. It was because I did television that I knew I wanted to be an actor.
"Even Shoaib Mansoor with whom I made my movie debut inKhuda Kay Liyehas his roots in television. And it shows in his writing," said Fawad.
The star of hit TV shows likeZindagi Gulzar Haimakes his Bollywood debut alongside the very spirited Sonam Kapoor inKhoobsurat, coming out Friday.
And he looks forward to a career in Bollywood, but admits he is new to the entire concept of promoting a film.
"In Pakistan promoting films is yet to become a trend. I would shoot a film and be done with it. It's only now after doingKhoobsuratin India that I realise how important the promotion of a film is. And I'm trying to get a grip on the whole process. Film promotion is an entirely new science for me," he said.
So is he planning to balance out a career in Pakistan and India?
"I was never much of a planner. So, I really can't say what the future holds for me. Yes, I do hope to do other Bollywood films afterKhoobsurat," said Fawad who has been a singer and actor for about 14 years.
"Yes! It has been that long. I was just a youngster in college trying to escape the drudgery of studies when I drifted into music and acting. At that time I wasn't sure I was interested in acting. I was only sure that I was disinterested in studies," he said.

Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan's Khoobsurat maybe called a remake of the 1980 Hrishikesh Mukherjee classic starring Rekha and Rakesh Roshan but the similarities sort of end on paper
Once you watch the film you'd realise that the makers of Khoobsurathave gone beyond the original, telling the same story in a novel way, keeping the essence of the original intact but treating it like a contemporary fairy-tale.Here are five differences we spotted between the original and the new-ageKhoobsurat...
Sonam Kapoor is not Rekha
And we don't mean it in a negative sense. Sonam has played a misfit but she is a lot more spunky, funky and peppy than Rekha. We welcomed the change because Rekha's character from the original would have been a bit old-fashioned for today's time. Sonam as Mili is also more real and every girl of any age-group would associate with her character.
Fawad Khan is not Rakesh Roshan
And thank god for that! Not that we didn't adore Roshan in the original we were spell bound by Fawad in the latest version. Rakesh didn't play the most important role in Hrishida's Khubsurat but unlike him Fawad isn't a second fiddle. Without him,Khoobsuratwouldn't have been so delightful...
The production value
Most definitely,Khoobsuratis grander than the original. While Rekha's film depicted the story of a middle class family, the new-ageKhoobsuratdeals with a royal family. It is not a surprise either because glittery extravagance didn't come as easily to Bollywood back in the 80s as it does now. With its mansions, its scenic backdrops and expensive outfits, Sonam-Fawad'sKhoobsuratlooks aesthetically and commercially appealing.
Manju is not the same
Rekha played the role of Manju in the Hrishida film while Kirron Kher plays the role of Sonam's mother, Manju in the remake. And the new Manju isn't half as garrulous or loud-mouthed like the old one. As much as we loved Rekha shaking things up in the Gupta household in the original film, we are leaning a little bit more toward Kirron for sweeping us off out feet with her typical Punjabi mummy' act!
The matriarch has also changed
Like the original which had Dina Pathak playing the matriarch of the Gupta family, this remake has Ratna Pathak Shah playing boss at a royal household running a dysfunctional family on the side. While Dina Pathak's strict disciplinary ways weren't given a back-story, Ratna's austere principles come with a reason. You will have to watch the film for that...
All these differences from the original make Sonam and Fawad's Khoobsuratworth a watch. Our advice is that you don't miss this one!

I hope the movie will be a hit, for both FK and Sonam. According to the trade figures, the opening hasn't been great :( I hope it spreads with good word of mouth though!
