Finding Fanny Sunday (3rd day) Box Office Collection Early Trends

Deepika Padukone's Finding Fanny is seeing super strong collections on its 3rd day Sunday at most places. The Sunday and the 1st Weekend business should be good looking at the early trends at multiplexes.

The movie has started on a better note than Friday and Saturday growing by at least 10-15 % in the morning shows. The movie is bound to grow in the evening and late evening shows. The movie has clicked well in the multiplexes of Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. The movie has also seen a good occupancy considering the limited release. The Hindi version surprisingly is also showing growth. The movie should add another 7.5-8 cr today in the worst case scenario though final numbers can be higher.

The movie is superb in circuits like Mysore, Delhi/NCR and Mumbai. The movie saw a massive 60 % growth in Mysore on Saturday ( 0.52 cr Fri to 0.0.83 cr on Saturday). The movie should have a health weekend and the rest depends on the week days business which is something we have to wait and watch. It is so because most of the English films ( especially Hollywood) attract its prime audience in the weekend and then stays steady but low in the weekdays. It will be interesting to see whether Finding Fanny continues this trend or breaks it. The movie should have a weekend of around 18.5 -19 cr which is a good result for the movie.

What is the budget of the film, including promotions ect?

Some, ahem, impartial members were mentioning that the budget of the film is some 30 Crores due to all the heavy promotion😆 Is that true?

Nowhere did I say the budget is 30 crore. Go read my posts again. 9 crore is the budget.

Maddock didn't hand over the movie to FOX for free. They made money from it. This is business. I assumed Maddock had sold the movie at 30 crore.. as they need to pay Deepika's share of profit and make their own money as well. Then someone mentioned the satellite right thing.. and I said - okay then Maddock won't need to sell it at 30.. they can charge less to FOX as they are making money from satellite right as well.

Now to recover money, the movie needs to make ---> the sum FOX paid for it + the publicity cost (Which another member said to me is near 10 crore)

So, even if Maddock charges 20 crore from FOX. FOX need to make at least 30 crore to recover their money.

And what's with the "ahem" dig? This is the reason people don't talk good of some celebs even if they like the promos of that celeb's movie and wish to watch the movie.

Well, whatever helps you sleep at night.

^ It was not a dig at you, NailClipper. I'll send you a PM regarding which member I meant.
PS: Please check Page 21. It had nothing to do with you.
And talking about digs, this thread if full of it. I am certainly not the first to make one.

Saw FFF yesterday, no time to write a detailed review, so here goes;
1. The film rides high on performances
2. Naseer and PK were the best. Dimple is the funniest but goes overboard. Deepika and Arjun are good. Deepika's voiceover parts are not well-executed though.
3. Its funny in parts, but not as a whole. And some of the comedy is downright slapstick. Being Cyrus had better humour.
4. The dialouges are good, but a tad pretentious.😆 Unlike Being Cyrus, where you could feel the characters thinking in English and not just speaking it, doesn't work the same way for FFF.
5. The cinematography ect is very good...Goa has been shot beautifully.
6. Its a short, tightly edited film, so you don't get very bored, even though the film is pretty slow by bollywood standards.
7. If you like quirky, laidback type of films, FFF is a good one-time watch.

The box office response to the two new releases, 'Creature 3D' and 'Finding Fanny' has been lukewarm at best.

Bollywood divas Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu entered theatres with "Finding Fanny" and "Creature 3D" respectively, but neither could rock the box office.

If Deepika's English language quirky drama has appealed to niche audience, Bipasha's scary film does not have too many takers either, say experts.

Both films came out Friday. "Finding Fanny" has managed to collect approximately Rs.10 crore, while "Creature 3D" could manage to earn Rs.6.88 crore in two days.

For "Finding Fanny", Homi Adajania went behind the camera, while Vikram Bhatt helmed "Creature 3D".

"'Finding Fanny' has earned close to Rs.10 crore. Masses won't go for movies like 'Finding Fanny'. It is popular in big cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore," Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS.

However, the film starring Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia has been recommended by celebrities like Shekhar Kapur, Anupam Kher and Neha Dhupia.

The box office business of "Creature 3D" indicates that it has not succeeded in its endeavour of scaring people.

Also starring Imran Abbas Naqvi, Bhatt's directorial has not received encouraging feedback.

"The genre and 3D aspects are interesting, but the subject is not strong," said Thadani.

Film critic Anupama Chopra also tweeted: "This creature should have demanded a better script."
