Doing heroine oriented roles can be dangerous for actresses. I don't think doing a heroine oriented role will get a commercial actress anywhere esp if the film flops. What did Heroine actually do for Kareena? Yes she made her fans proud by doing a heroine oriented role. Film opened great. She got some great reviews. But did it do anything for her career? Nope.

Look at what happened with Rani and her heroine oriented role Laage something. That film marked her downfall before she came back with NOKJ, lolo too if am right had a downfall after Zubeida.

Bebo doesn't have to do heroine oriented roles. As long as she picks great roles in commercial films where her character is as important to the story as the hero. I have a feeling Salman's film has a nice role for her..let's wait and see. And apparently she has signed a heroine oriented role/or a great role that she says she is excited about. Let's see how that turns out.

It would be nice to see Kareena venture out of her comfort zone and take up projects that could challenge her. A movie like Queen could catapult her career! Also she should not hesitate acting with younger actors Ranveer/ Varun/ ARK. She has right balance of classiness and bubbliness to pair up with newcomers. She is unnecessarily limiting herself working with certain superstars.

Look at the films Alia and Parineeta are attempting. They are not "heroine oriented" in the sense of "art cinema" but very much COMMERCIAL films where the female has the stronger role. Who would have thought!

Yes. Times have changed. Even Dirty Picture and English Vinglish were commercially successful. People are more willing to watch movies about women or with a strong female character.

to Kareena's credit she did do a film like Chameli. I think that boosted her acting credibility. She also had Jab We Met a huge hit where her Geet became such a legendary character. So her old fashioned mindset surprises me.

I think the problem is the older male stars. SRK, Aamir, Salman and Ajay Devgan don't share the screen well. The younger males do. These big stars make the most commercially anticipated films, but reduce the women to flowerpots. It is hard for a woman to want to be part of a big film like Singham or Dabangg and still get a nice meaty role. I was surprised that SRK let Deepika shine so much in Chennai Express.

If she's so content with her role in Singham 2, she'd revel in its success and not spend all her time defending herself.

Alia has done 4 films so far.

Let's compare Kareena's first 4 films to Alia's.

1.Student of the year and Refugee-Kareena started with an offbeat film and was hailed by critics for her first ever performance.Alia just played a poor version of Kareena K3G and was called frozen by critics.

2.MKKH and Highway. Kareena was again applauded for her transformation from serious village role to a bubbly sweet modern role...Highway is Alia's only decent performance so far.

3.Yadien and 2 States :2 States as a film is better.. and both Alia and Kareena were below average as sole performers but Kareena role was very different from her first two roles.

4.Asoka and HSKD: No comparison here..Kareena nailed Princess Kaurwaki...Alia was again playing 2 States.

Do your research first if you don't know anything. 😆

How about you research a bit more?

Ajnabee was kareena's 4th movie and i really REALLY don't need to say who was better; kareena in ajnabee (where a newbie overshadowed her) or alia in HSKD

And it may seem i hate bebo, i DON'T. It's posts like these where i like to give it back!

Just to add, Alia was really liked for her two states performance by both critics and the audience. Infact my male friends started liking her after two states.
And Kareena in yaadein was 😆
