Here comes the much-awaited first look poster of the Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa. As promised, the makers have released the first look on Ganesh Chaturthi. Directed by K.S. Ravikumar, Lingaa has Rajinikanth in a double role.
Rajinikanth got busy with Lingaa soon after Kochadaiiyaan. Produced by Rockline Venkatesh, the movie is a period drama and stars two actresses. Bollywood stunner Sonakshi Sinha and southern beauty Anushka Shetty play the female leads. The music of the film is composed by AR Rahman.
The movie is still in production stage, and the cast and crew are currently in Shimoga where the shoot is progressing at a brisk pace.
Lingaa's first look motion poster has also made it to the web. "Here we go the first look motion poster exclusively for #SuperStar #RajiniKanth fans," posted the official page of the movie on Twitter.
Sonakshi Sinha sports a look from the 40s. It's being said that the actress was given a choice between two roles in the film. One was of a modern girl and another of a girl next-door from a bygone era, and Sonakshi selected the latter. In the movie, she will be seen wearing half sarees sans any blouse.
The movie also has British actress-singer Lauren J Irwin. The actress plays an important role in the pre-independence era in the movie, while Anushka Shetty, who has worked with Rajinikanth in films like Kuselan and Chandramukhi, essays the role of a modern girl.
Lingaa is slated to hit the screens on December 12, that is on Rajini Sir's birthday. Indeed a treat for the fans of Thalaivaa. The audio launch of the movie is expected this Diwali.
