I see your point and it is partly true. But I don't think you can compare SRK and Paresh Rawal. Even if Paresh Rawal is respected for his talent, he doesn't have the star power SRK carries. Aryan may get work because someone is schmoozing or afraid of crossing SRK. While people will be more comfortable rejecting Paresh Rawal's sons.

That being said whether a big time star or small star, it makes a big difference when they say they want their kids to make it on their own. Some star parents have invested a lot to make their kids stars by investing in films, getting tailor made scripts, directing them, calling all their contacts to make it happen. At least it forces the kids to make their own connections and do legwork.

While KJo may still give work to Aryan, there is a subtle difference between SRK saying make a movie with Aryan I'll give all the money you need versus Aryan going to KJO to audition for a role. Also when honestly mean they want their kids to struggle, it prevents people from doing favors for the heck of it. Someone may cast Aryan because they are afraid rejecting him will piss SRK off. But if SRK is honest, a filmmaker maybe more comfortable rejecting Aryan if he is not suited or not good enough.

That being said 100% agree that a star kid is a star kid and even if their parents let them on their own they have a massive advantage over outsiders. People may pick a mediocre Aryan over a good newcomer just because he is Aryan.

PS: Aryan/SRK are mostly examples here.

I'd take him to court for being a neglecting father if I were his kid.

Well that is the right way to go about it. Don't shove your kids at the audience. Let the industry choose talent.

What I worry about is that the truly talented stars will struggle, while untalented star kids will get careers handed on a platter.

Yeah I agree star kids get their careers on their platter, but audience are the ones who choose ULTIMATLY whom they want to see on screen...if the star kid is untalented they will reject him..

I get the attraction for star kids wanting to be actors. I truly do. If you have seen your parent being recognized and adored by strangers, had a rather nice lifestyle and perks like entry into clubs and freebies because of whose kid you were, I too would want the same thing. Who would want to work in an office over that ? 😆
What I have a problem with is these starkids being thrust on us and outsiders not given a chance. Unless daddy or mummy is spending their own money and launching the kid, let every starkid have an audition. Let outsiders like TV actors get in more. Have big launches for everyone, not just starkids. When a starkid is being launched, do not bring daddy or mommy to the promo shows or have Aamir uncle recommend (ala Tiger Shroff). I realize much of this is idealization and not possible. Thankfully, like water will find its level, the industry and the public have a way of weeding out the chaff. Even a Bachchan cannot become a superstar, a Uday and Tusshar hung around long past their prime because of their families. Most untalented starkids were swept out like a tsunami. In the end the ones left standing were the not so beautiful but talented ones like Kajol, Rani, Ranbir etc.Talent mostly wins, thankfully.

Nepotism work in big way in bollywood , so all these denial etc etc r just hog wash . If he didnt put influence than naseer hardly entertain/teach his son . Only difference is paresh rawal cant take a risk of say investing 40 crore in a movie and he is not a big star himself who have influence.

Its easy for these star kids become successful with proper contact , PR ,launch , songs in movie etc. Only thing is bollywood dont find any actors out of say 120 crore but with in few families. No doubt our earlier generation have have numerous excellent actors like dilip kumar rajesh khana amitabh etc etc . Now barring few star kids all we have mediocre actors. When they proudly citing acting is in their blood just take away all songs from movie, then these star kids will go into oblivion that is difference between bollywoold and hollywood.
