He did have a very good year in 2005 with huge openers in BNB ,Sarkar and Dus .The first was a big hit .Also a moderate success in Bluffmaster.

Reached his peak with Guru in 2007 after which it was a downhill.

Now he is more or less finished ..Best suited for side roles .

He could have been a big star if he had made the right choices after giving hits and superhits in 2004/05. But he picked some awful films and chose to play supporting roles in Dhoom 2 and KANK, which were disastrous decisions.

He was a star at one point and nearly everybody I knew was raving about him at one point. He couldn't become a superstar because of poor decision making.

I don't think he cares much anymore. If he still wanted the superstar status he would be doing more movies where he is the main lead. A lot of flop actors can still get roles. Abhi could easily as well since he has already proven himself during that 2004-2008 period, also he has his family's backing.

I think he'd rather just be a part of a bigger cast. Which isn't a bad lane to be in, he just has to make sure the roles he takes allow him to leave an impression.
