Salman Khan reveals that he confronted the temperamental director over his loud outbursts on the sets.

To celebrate two decades of their much-loved family drama, Hum Aapke Hain Koun!, Salman Khan and director Sooraj Barjatya have shot a special video in Karjat, where the two are currently filming their fourth film together, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

In the video the duo fondly recall the making of one of Hindi cinema's highest grossing films. Dressed in a brown shirt and white trousers, Salman acknowledges that it's Sooraj's calm demeanour which sets him apart from most directors today.

"What I love about Sooraj is that he sees everything in soft-focus and finds beauty around him. He is a very nonjudgemental person and lets people be," Salman asserts.

His rave continues with the actor stating, "I've always maintained that although we have had Guru Dutt and Raj Kapoor, Sooraj is the best director in Hindi cinema."

Salman goes on to hint that there's a director who "yells a lot," and as Sooraj quietly looks on, even names him.

"One day, I saw Sanjay Leela Bhansali yelling, apparently he does that quite a lot," says the actor, sounding disturbed and angry. "I had to tell him and I did - 'Sanjay, you must hang around with Sooraj Barjatya. And just see how he directs'."

An apologetic Bhansali is then reported to have told Salman, "Yes, I've been losing it (his temper) quite a lot these days," to which Salman retorted, "The first thing you do is make your actors feel beautiful and loved.

Even a Taj Mahal can be made with love." Bhansali and Salman have worked in three ilms, Khamoshi The Musical, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Sawaariya.

It is also revealed in the video that Salman wanted to play the part which was eventually essayed by Saif Ali Khan in Barjatya's Hum Saath Saath Hain. "He wanted to play the younger brother Vinod but I had to convince him that as the older Prem, he would bring more maturity on screen," says Barjatya.

People in our world have short temper. My dad himself does. Its common. Both directors have a different way of approaching things. Nothing's wrong in that as long as it doesn't create further problems.

Sanjay has his own way of directing and Sooraj has his own way. Both directors are amazing at what they do. But for me Sooraj has the edge.

Sanjay comes across as bitter man. Sooraj is more humble, I loved sanjay HDDCS and Sb MPk and Hahk,
But the truth is sb isn't the same director which he was during HDDCS

^seriously. Why copy everything.
I think SLB is a great director. His films are eye pleasing, visually stunning, characters are usually on cloud-9, music is beyond amazing.

SLB is hated on this forum, but I think he gave a lot of creative color to bollywood which lacked.

He was great but off recent he has lost the touch. You know? like take out the beautiful sets and costumes. The emotions... the feelings. Its not there. You don't feel for any character. Its not convincing enough.
Sooraj's last film. Vivah. Despite being thrashed on here. It was one of the most adored films of that year. It was Blockbuster. Excellent WOM. The characters were beautifully written

Yeah Beautiful sets and costumes are there but what about the story and characters? Deepika is among my fav actress. I really like her movies but I couldn't feel for leela and didn't liked RL at all!

Deepika performed well but her character and all other characters were poorly written and story was horrible. SLB is not as good as he was during HDDCS time. Sad but it's truth

I agree to Salman on this, a director weaves a story around his characters so he needs to be passionate and loving to the characters.
Actors are fulfilling the character roles and if they are shouted at or being made uncomfortable with outburst then that definitely affects the performances and leave loopholes in other creative aspects.
SLB should get married now, he will be lot patient afterwards.
