History is replete with examples of Bollywood Khans being prodded to comment on their rival's films and their comments being manipulated to sound nasty even if they weren't meant to be so. But trust Shah Rukh Khan to come up with something witty to keep everyone guessing as to what he actually meant. When he was recently asked about Salman Khan's Kick, the actor smartly dodged the question. " I think it is high time these questions stop. We are on friendly terms now and even hug publicly as proof," quipped the actor in a rather tongue- in- cheek manner.
But it was when he was asked about Aamir Khan's recently released poster that has struck a debate of sorts with AK's full monty act, that Shah Rukh finally lost his cool. However, ever the charmer, he ensured that he refrained from saying anything that he might have to repent later.
After thoroughly questioning the journalist's motives of asking such questions he came to the answer. " Please call me on 9820757576 and breathe heavily on the other end of the line before asking your question and I will answer it," jested SRK in his usual devil- maycare attitude.
Shah Rukh Khan may have nothing to say about the poster but the industry is abuzz with rumours of Aamir's PK's poster being timed to coincide with the commencement of the promotions for SRK's Diwali extravaganza Happy New Year. Rumours doing the round also suggest that a teaser might release on August 15, the same day as Happy New Year's trailer launch. Comparisons to earlier incidents when Aamir apparently tried to steal Shah Rukh's thunder by promoting his films with the actor's have been rife. " In the past too, Aamir promoted Ghajini while Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was running in the theatres by giving the ushers a buzz cut akin to his character in the film. Aamir seems to be doing the same with PK, releasing a very interesting poster just before HNY's promotions are about to kickstart," points out an industry insider.
