Chill, Guys. Anna is blaming the industry for their thoughtless approach and the lack of sensibility; not blaming a specific actor. She took Akki, Big B, Dharam paa-ji's name also. None of their fans is taking it personally.

Why are people not able to see what is being written.

Why defend the actors, the rapists; blame the writer for being biased.

This is how women walking the streets of India are treated EVERYDAY! To whistles, to stalking, to groping, to the mentality that if she says no she means yes. Raping to dur ki baat hai.

Why are women so bent on defending actors that they do not know, writers that they do not know, an industry- bollywood that does not put food on their table but just provided entertainment!!
Apne baare mein soocho, apni betiyon, behno ke baare mein soocho!

Why are they for the propagation of this culture against women??

It all boils down to MONEY.

Paisa bolta hai...everything else is immaterial

Absolutely the article was discussing only the Male heros so I mentioned them. Choli ke peeche was an an embarassment. I was in my teens travelling in local trains in Mumbai so was Ram teri gang maili...these movies are nothing but embarassment for young girls.

I agree about the Women too the problem is NO ON THINKS...there is no accountability or social responsibility..

This applies both to MEN and WOMEN.

And the BIGGEST culprit is THE CENSOR BOARD here.

This is a really nicely written article.

These are seriously one of the worst scenes BW has been portraying in masala/ romantic movies since like, forever. The male lead trying to annoy the girl with his cheap tactics, and eventually, the girl falls for the guy because he kissed her reflection on the bike's mirror? People have grown up watching these scenes. It creates a deep impact on people's mind. They start thinking that if you eve-tease a girl, call her a maal, she will get agitated at first, but eventually she will fall for you. Why will, she HAS to fall for you. She has no other option. And this is not my opinion, this is what BW movies portray.

Yes at the end it all depends upon the mentality of men. There are many men who wouldn't even think of speaking like this to a girl. But all these movies do is, encourage the "filthy minds" to continue with their cheap acts. This is where the problem lies. No sane guy would go rape a girl only by watching a Bollywood movie. These types of scenes just give what you call in Hindi, Badhava to boys who 'indulge in eveteasing.'

BW has options to make the movie seem entertaining and at the same time, decent. But they choose to make it as vulgar as possible. I really don't get why. 🤔

To answer your question because it sells. Many people are actually entertained by such cheap and vulgar acts.

Blame actress

They are playing role for money why should we blame when they have least saying in a movie and that too they are not doing some social service that they will think what impact will it carry in society in general. They are the last person to care about it that does not mean it is right and hero who have all saying in a movie agree to such act. In real life we also blame woman for eve teasing , rape with all kind of reason.

Rapist are monster

They are not monster , they are just people like us and 90% rape committed by known person only. Many take naa with a hnaa.

Females are not saint

No one is saint , even not u or me that does not mean we should not blame who deserve this . Few false cases does not mean we will see in suspicious everything. People get benefit from law so also there is a chance of misuse of same that does not mean we have to question relevance of law itself and whoever made accusation.

Movie dont influence

The biggest influencer is movies as it contains visual , audio so also stars , dream. Most of the bollywood selling us dream . The way star walk , dress, manner everything influence us , thats why we see changing in trend as along will bollywood among people. After all there is some reason thats why disclaimer banning etc. of cigarette alcohol etc. used in movies. It definitely create influence and approve mindset of people on certain act.

Bollywood dont reflect society

All those scenes included actually only viewer, as mindset we are happy in seeing teasing allbit by hero not by villian bcoz we want to relate with the hero . Its moves like round people in society think that way so also that reflect in movies.

Why this exaggeration

There is nothing exaggeration, these are just opinions. Just like we celebrate such scenes with clapping similarly few disaprove such scenes.

Why particular hero

Its not about particular hero it is just a trend adopted in most of the movies by movie makers to gain success and that appeal a large section of people. Earlier rape scenes were there bcoz a large chunck of viewers want to see those now it subsidise to eve teasing where everything justified on the pretext of hero as viewer profile changed.

We already have the most regressive mindset and these things only approve and fuel that mindset . Yes stopping these things will not in any way stop any ever stop eveteasing etc. bcoz it is not sole reason and human mind is not formula based math , it can be one of the reason out of may be 100 reasons that fuel such kind of mindset. Certainly is influence mindset and the way we think.

The author is not blaming cinema for inciting rapes but for contributing to glorification of such acts in name of romance.
Yes girls are also to be blamed for doing stuff like Chikni chameli or Choli ke peeche kya hai. But their problem is that industry is male dominated. They immediately replace the girl who has reservations. Female filmmakers and artistes have no unity. Female filmmakers are also useless like that Farah who sexually objectifies both men and women in her films.

In a bid to make bucks women have also given in to titillation.
