Ashaji revives 'Mehbooba' for RGV's Sholay

R.D.Burman's gaudy and vibrant voice resounds in the ears when the track 'Mehbooba O Mehbooba' from 'Sholay' comes to our minds. Now with the film being made again by Ram Gopal Verma, talks are on to rehash the track once again. The cast and crew of the film have almost fallen in place. Coming to the soundtrack, the timeless song 'Mehbooba O Mehbooba' will be included in the new album and Asha Bhonsle has been roped in to render this famous track. The original song being sung by her late husband R.D.Burman, and she says that when she got the offer, she thought she'd better sing it herself rather than allowing someone else to do it. That way, the damage to the original will be the least. Apparently there will be few more versions of the same song and Himesh Reshammiya and Amitabh Bachchan are recording for them. The song will be different from the original one in feel as it's infused with more retro element. Himesh will also feature in the music video of the song along with Big B, while Urmila Matondkar will sizzle to Asha Bhonsle rendition.
