Is all not well between Shah Rukh Khan and Vishal-Shekhar?

When Shah Rukh Khan revealed the game plan of Slam, the mega US tour for Happy New Year's promotion, it was the surprise omission of the film's composer duo, Vishal -Shekhar that caught our eye. Their absence looked even more baffling when almost every other known name associated with the film from Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Farah Khan to even debutant Vivaan Shah were drafted in to tour USA along with King Khan.

Now considering that Slam is going to be a typical music-dance drama, with lots of song and dance oriented performances, Vishal and Shekhar should have been the first obvious choice. Not only are they music directors of good repute but also established singers in their own right.

While Vishal-Shekar may have been benched, the lucky one to have got a look in happens to be SRK's favourite, Honey Singh who continues to be the surprise package. Surprising because Honey is yet to compose any songs for Happy New Year. His presence in Slam could therefore mean only one thing -SRK perhaps wants Honey to perform his hit numberLungi Dance live while King Khan shakes his leg.

Did Honey's presence result in the omission of Vishal-Shekhar? One can never really know. When we asked Shekar the reason behind their absence from Slam, the singer-composer gave a rather vague reply, "We are not a part of it because they have been following a format for a long time. And as per that format only the cast is going."

Further when we asked Shekhar if he was excited at the prospect of teaming up with SRK again after Chennai Express, Shekhar mysteriously avoided mentioning both SRK and Chennai Express. "Well, it's Farah Khan's film. We and Farah Khan have worked in the past as well on Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan. This one is going to be huge. The music has shaped really well and has everything from melody to nice dance numbers."

Wonder what's cooking beneath the surface. Knowing SRK and the success he has had with Honey Singh, there's a huge possibility that Honey would be roped in to rap once again for Badshah Khan. But will it make Vishal-Shekhar happy? That remains to be seen.
