I saw Thupakki, the original of Holiday, long time back and loved it very much. I am in love with everything about the film-the story, direction, actors( especially Vijay),cinematography, music and the suspense. I wouldn't mind giving a 5/5 for this movie even now.

Then I came to know it was being remade into a hindi film with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the leads. I was very disappointed...I thought this one wouldn't do an ounce of justice to the original.

But when I saw the film, my view kind of changed. It wasn't as good as Thupakki but wasn't very bad either. Akki was quite impressive in this one but still he is quite mediocre in acting compared to Vijay (this is very evident from the trailer itself) .Sona was as usual a waste of time whereas in Thupakki, Kajal wasn't that irritating. Vidyut was bang on in Thupakki but the guy in Holiday was ok-ok.

Even though it is evidently not as good as Thupakki, it was overall a very enjoyable film.

Those of you who felt Holiday was extremely good, please see Thupakki..you'll understand why I rate the original higher.

Yes, it was. And after googling "Vijay Thupakki" I certainly don't want to watch the original.

Don't know about the original ...but holiday was superb ,villian was weak 😆

i would watch holiday film any day rather than ek tha villain what a stupid movie it was

Ikr..he wasn't fit be the villain in a story like this...it would have been awesome to see Vidyut reprise this role again.

i found it good... my expectation were low though but surprisingly it turned out to be good ...Akshay Kumar's acting was Top class.. the movie was deserving Hit.👏

Don't know about others but I liked the movie.. Aki was superb in it.. 😳

Though Sona's presence irked me..🥱

But at the end story was the winner.👏

Ya it was that good..but y people r getting Ek Villain here..Holiday was good but even Ek Villain was good n even if u people dont like it no need to get it here coz TM has nowhere mentioned ot compared it with Villain..

IMO , it is a scene to scene copy of the original. The story was fabulous and Akki was good too...but comparatively it is an okay-okay kinda film.
