No one else was never offered the film, at least officially.

Asin was. The movie got delayed. And then when they started the project again, SRK picked Deepika over Asin.

Just hope the overhype doesnt kill the girl's enthusiasm..Confidence is good but overconfidence can be troublesome.

She has definitely shown growth in her performance and acting skills in back to back movies unlike Priyanka or Deepika.

agree n if u r a gud actor u will outshine others in 4 scens too, pari was a exmple , she was outshine all others even anu too in her debute movie , deepika was bad actress despite her bad acting she got back to back offers n alia was criticized so cruelly bcs she was getting it on a platter

Alia's first four films are surely better than Deepika's and Priyanka's first four.
But the kind of stardom and popularity Deepika achieved with her debut in OSO (in the first year) or Priyanka got with Aitraz, Alia is nowhere near to that after two years and four successful films.

Nope :) I loved it, another childhood movie! The songs, and yeah the acting was pretty bad but I loved it! Every song reminded me of my cousins' weddings back in the 90's when I was a kid :)

Reg. the argument...yeah like some people said Deepika never auditioned for her first film like it's mentioned in the Actress roundtable but that doesn't take away the hard work she has done to reach to a point where she became the number one heroine of Bollywood. Same with Priyanka. Sugar daddy or no sugar daddies, both the actresses have truly worked hard to reach where they are and have improved in their acting skills.

However this topic isn't taking away the hard work done by Deepika or Priyanka. If you see the first four films of Deepika,Priyanka and Alia, it's obvious who has improved the fastest of the three. Alia is a star kid and she did have backing and got good roles but no one would have even cared for her if she didn't perform. That's the reason why Uday and Tushar are still stuck doing side characters inspite of being star kids.

I think the good news is that along with the senior actresses and actors, even the younger lot is improving and that's a good sign for Bollywood. Now all that it needs is a fine balance between star kids and outsiders. K-Jo can easily make two films one starring Alia and the other starring an outsider.He is doing a good job introducing new directors, time to launch some new talent acting wise too who aren't star kids.

And when people can give a chance to Shahrukh,Salman,Aamir during the reign of Amitabh and the lot, they should give a chance to the new lot during the reign of the Khans too! You can't be stuck to the 90's.Accept the fact that someone new will take the place of Amitabh and the Khans in the coming years!
