Personal life is just discussed online or in gossip mags. Real life junta couldn't care less whether someone was a family man or not.

Pre release of Zanjeer people might have talked about Pran, Jaya but after it, there was talk of only Amitabh. That is power of onscreen personality and talent.

What I meant to say was, absolutely these people are the ones who earned their stardom with their talent but they had time and energy to concentrate on what they did best because everything else was taken care of,.

I don't know much about BW stardom to speak about Dilip kumarji and the rest, but I do know I do not respect Dharmendra at all because of the whole conversion/double wife thing. Any sympathy I have is for his first wife and even Hemaji though she is also responsible for the affair and marriage, she did the raising of the kids almost like a single parent. Perhaps that is why Dharamji is not a huge superstar I have no clue.To even have time to have an affair with 4 kids his wife must have held everything together long before he met Hemaji.

I do know Raj Kapoor though. It is said he lived and breathed cinema. He was this huge producer, actor, blah, blah, blah. Almost all his energies went to films and I think affairs. IMO his wife tried to hold it together, but you can see how his actions and an utter failure as a father he was and the impact it had the lives of his kids. His professional life on the other hand is a huge success, but private live was not so great.

AB Sr has solid kids in Shweta and Abhi and though he was a superstar he was a dad too and must have worried over the impact his career had on them. The fact that he did not have to worry about them helped him concentrate on his career IMO.No one is an island and one cannot be successful without help. The qualities that make one successful are theirs alone, but their success is not theirs alone, it is shared and made possible by those who are 'wind beneath their wings'. That is why to me there would be no AB Sr without Jaya, SRK without Gauri or Ajay without Kajol.
