LOL why not? I don't know, but in both films, the leads are facing death and the love story is built on that premise.

I would suggest you read the book before telling something like this.

LOL.. nah, I'll pass. I don't watch films or read books about death. The plot is the same, how the story is build up from that can be different.

Anyhow, I didn't claim it was a copy, I just pointed out the similarities.

JWM was copied into a Hollywood movie. But the Hollywood version isn't successful. I think the director even gave credit to Imtiaz.

Not sure if copied but The Fault in Our Stars (?) has a somewhat similar storyline to Satwan Aasman.

It was a failed copy of Mani Ratnam's 1989 classic Geetanjali.

Actually this was the director's quote

"Is it really being said that Leap Year is based on Jab We Met? I've never heard of that movie. If anything, the inspiration for it is a movie called I Know Where I am Going by Michael Powell, made in 1945."

@ponymo must have heard the wrong information then. Someone told me about it. I did watch Leap Year and it is similar to JWM. But who knows maybe JWM is probably copied from another film.

Didn't the Chinese make a remake of 3 idiots because it became super popular there?
Most of my Chinese friends have watched or heard of 3 idiots. Not sure about the remake though. There were talks about it.
