I haven't seen much of Karishma's substantial work...seen her in mindless comedies majorly...and so my pick would be Kareena...she is talented just stupid though

Kareena by a mile!!

Karishma is the all-time 'flower-pot' queen!!

She's had a few notable performances towards the ends of her career like Fiza & Zubeida but she will mostly be remembered for her flower-pot roles in Govida/DD/Kader Khan films. And that annoying, squeeky voice of hers...uggh!

Kareena is much more natural and expressive but a knuckle-head. She still has a few more performances left in her, but even if she doesn't, she's ahead of her sister in every which way.

Karishma looks bad, acts bad ... Kareena is 10 times a better actor then her sister ,
Karishma did somewhat better films towards the fag end of her career when she stopped getting lead roles in popular films , whereas Kareena debuted in an offbeat film and did a chameli very early in a career ... Chameli > all Karishma's films

This is a very difficult question.
I think unfortunately for Karisma - she comes from the early 90s era where there was a lot of melodramatic roles and over-acting was the norm. After all she was trying her best to emulate her favourite actress Sridevi, to whom it came naturally.

But Karisma grew as an actress - and how. I think the first time I saw her really act and almost reduce me to tears was in Khuddar (1994) - the scene just after the Sexy Sexy song, it turns out her character performs at seedy clubs in order to provide for a bunch of orphans in her village - and when she explains this to Govinda's character, it is heartbreaking. Not to mention her acting prowess playing a blind girl so well later on in the movie.

Then came Raja Hindustani (1996), Dil To Pagal Hai and many others - she picked up awards for both and had finally arrived! Over the following years we got at least one great performance from her each year: 1999 (Biwi No.1), 2000 (Fiza), 2001 (Zubeidaa), 2002 (Shakti), 2003 (Baaz). These 5 films showed her versatility and turned her into a legend in my eyes.

I can honestly say her performance in Zubeidaa was one of the best in the history of Hindi cinema. Yes the last 100 years. It's right up there with Meena Kumari in Pakeezah, Rekha in Khoon Bhari Maang, and more recently Sridevi in English Vinglish.

It is sad that she went away for 9 years and her comeback film bombed at the box office - and it kind of made us forget what a power-house she really is. She is electric on screen - and she's so versatile: from Lolita-esque (Andaz), to coming-of-age anti-heroine (Shakti) and from the blind girl in Khuddar to the subtly dramatic performance in Zubeidaa - she has covered a lot.

Now for Kareena - she started off so well in Refugee - I remember at the time, only just one film old, people were already saying she's better than her sister. But she spent the next few years pretty much playing ridiculous roles in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum (2001), Mujhse Dosti Karoge (2002), Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon (2003). Although there were some good performances in films like Asoka, Chamelia, Fida, Dev, Omkara, it wasn't until 2007's Jab We Met that we saw her full potential. That role, again is one of the very best of all-time and cemented her place in history as one of the greats.

I believe since then, artistically she has been at her peak. I think due to bad luck, her acting isn't as appreciated. I mean if we forget about the whole barbie-doll image she's had since playing Poo in K3G (2001) - if we take that away and look at her performance - you will see her shine, even in roles like Bodyguard, Ra.One and Agent Vinod. She was excellent in those roles, but they seem to get overlooked because she either has a short screen time or for some people, acting means screaming and crying or being extra loud or extra timid to some (most) people. However there is an art to acting that requires one to get a perfect balance of restraint with cinematic presence and play an every-day sort of role, making it look "normal" - and it's not easy to do, but Bebo does it so well that we don't even notice.

I think another of her great performances was Kurbaan - highly under-rated. She was excellent in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and more recently Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. I went to see that 3 times in the cinema - she was just too good - but sadly didn't get praised for it.

Now to compare the two - it's difficult because although their careers overlap for a short while, they really do come from 2 very different eras. I think if Karisma carried on working in her 30s (she took a decade long break at the age of 29) - we would have seen her do her best work as she was on a creative roll - similar to Kajol who's done a few roles here and there. If Kareena retired at the age of 29, just after 3 Idiots, we wouldn't have seen her in comedy in Golmaal 3, or her drama in Heroine.

I usually side with Karisma on this one, but it's hard. I think I'm gonna go with Bebo for a change because her acting is pretty much flawless post 2007. And I think right now, along with Vidya and Priyanka she is the best we have. I know Deepika is very good and I loved her in Ram-Leela, but she's not at the level of these 3 ladies. Sonakshi is promising but again, maybe she's too young in her career. And come on, I mean Kareena was overlooked in favour of Shraddha Kapoor at the last award season. That says it all.

BOTH are my favorites! Difficult to chose 1.

But i'd go with Karisma, as she's the better actress. But my heart belongs to Kareena.😳

I LOVE Bebo, both onscreen and offscreen! She's HILARIOUS at BEST! 😆
