My Review

Let me preface this by saying I'm not a big fan of any of the stars in this film, heck I despised some of them so I went to go see this movie for one reason or maybe two: To see what the hype is all about, and to see if I will swallow my pride and admit SidM has improved or will he forever be wood boy. Oh boy was I wrong about this kid, he's no natural actor but he's a method actor, which in my opinion is even better. I couldn't believe it was the same guy from HTP and SOTY, his voice, his dialogue delivery, his expression everything was immensely improved. -The scene where Guru goes after the little kid, the pure evilness in his eyes but seconds later how his eyes softened because he remembers he was once helpless kid himself. That scene is I think what sold me, I can't say I would turn into Sid fan girl, bad habits die hard but I will definitely look out for his future movies.

What I liked:

-Music- I guess this goes without saying

-Ritesh D I'm not as surprised as most people were, I'm a firm believer that any actor who can do comedy as good as Ritesh does, can do anything else effortlessly. He was incredible in this movie, and I hope he keeps experimenting.

-Sid M- This guy is going to be huge if he keeps picking the right scripts, I think what sets him apart from other newbies is the hunger he has, he wants to be different and that's probably one of the reason why he loves Ranbir's work. I'm looking forward to Motwane's project, I think if Mohit who is at best average director can bring out this, we are in for a treat.

What I didn't like

The Direction: Mohit Suri is one overrated director, I honestly believe if it weren't for the hit songs his movie would all flop. I don't even have a problem with the fact that he lifted many scenes from different movies but the story is clumsy. If you make something like Barfi, I can overlook the fact that you stole scenes but you steal and still produce shit? and don't even get me started on the suspense.

- Shradha Kapoor- I think the less said the better, the girl is talentless, nothing but a pretty face. The first scene where she is in the car is laughable, and her expression in the police station wow šŸ˜†this is a movie that would've suit Kareena or if they wanted younger Alia. I get her character is suppose to be happy and cheerful but she just annoys you with her expressionless face. I wanted Guru to just break her neck in that parking lot scene.

-

Overall this is one of the movies where the actors make up for the lack of story and make the film stronger with their performance. Watch it for Ritesh and Sid M's performance.

+1

Exactly the same what I felt!

And Ithink also The end could have been better!
I also didn't like the direction and let's not talk about SharddašŸ˜†
Love Sid M he has improve alot and he has a long way to go! He has that actor material and the look and yes, ur right if he choose the right script he can make it very big! ā¤ļø

And all over my favorite was Riteish! Amazing šŸ‘ Like I said it before he nailed it also Aamna Sharif was really really good!

Saw this film last night, the plot could've been more fleshed out but overall it was a good film, with great performances by Sid and Ritiesh.

Sid was the surprise package, I had written him off earlier after SOTY, thought he was just another talentless model, it seemed like his peers - Varun and Alia - had surpassed and left him far behind, but he proved me wrong yesterday, the guy did a brilliant job!, thought Ritiesh was gonna eat him alive the way SRK did with Sunny in Darr, given the nature of his character, but no, Sid held his own.

I loved the part where he breaks into the mental asylum? and the security guards are like Kaun ho tum?, and the Shahenshah dialogue plays in the background. šŸ˜† But yeh he nailed his character and the emotional scenes. The guy has the height, looks, and the deep voice, something that's been missing since, well, Amitabh, and the potential to be big, hope he keeps experimenting. šŸ‘šŸ¼

Ritiesh was fantastic, soulless and heartless, reflected through his dead eyes, played perfectly.

The weakest link was Shraddha, her lack of acting prowess gets exposed in the scene where she pleads for her life to Ritiesh, she just doesn't come across convincing, the guy is about to kill you but you're crying like a little girl who is pleading for a lollipop from her daddy.
