Aamir Khan's PK Advance Bookings Commence In Full Swing

The Aamir Khan starrer PK is all set to release coming Friday and interestingly the film's advance bookings have already started. The film which is releasing in the festive time of Christmas already has a good chance to cash in on the holidays.

Previously too, Aamir had made sure that his films Dhoom 3 and Talaash opened their advance bookings windows much before its release and that seemed to have worked for the star. The buzz for PK is already high considering it is a Rajkumar Hirani film.

The bookings have commenced in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, and Pune, but they are yet to open their windows in Bangalore and Chennai. While a lot of multiplexes and single screens are yet to start their advance bookings, the ones that have started are already starting to fill up. Mumbai is showing a good response for the first day evening shows while Saturday morning shows are also picking up. A handful of late evening shows in the city are already sold out too.

Delhi too is showing a good response for this film as the noon shows are becoming houseful already. Also since the weekend bookings have commenced, the shows for Saturday and Sunday seem to be filling up much faster.

Pune is a little dull on the bookings yet. It may pick up over the week as the film hits the theaters on Friday. PK has a wide release and so a lot of single screens and multiplexes are yet to start with their advance bookings.

Looking at the bookings which have started in full swing, it seems PK will have a smashing opening at the box office.

PK Advance At Multiplexes Opens Early

The advance of PK opened early with most of the major multiplex chains releasing their programming schedules over the weekend. There have been films before that have opened advance 6-7 days prior to releases but not at this level as its normally a few theatres or a couple of chains. Normally advance opens at multiplexes opens on Wednesday, in the case of some films its is Thursday by the time programming is ready.

The response was the expected sort with premium multiplexes getting extraordinary response, some like PVR Select City in Delhi getting shows sold out within no time. As the multiplex gets smaller the results get weaker but this is expected as the awareness of an early advance is limited.

The test will be Friday with expectations huge as 3 idiots with the same team of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani grossed 200 crore nett five years back so PK will be expected to go higher than 3 Idiots by a margin.

Aamir's PK To Release In 6000 Screens Worldwide

Aamir Khan is back with a Christmas release and this time the bets are high as PK brings together the 3 Idiots team. PK seems to have won half the battle with its huge screen count and since this is also a solo release, there are high expectations from it. The film will be releasing in 5200 screens in India and 800 screens in the overseas. A 6000 screen worldwide release is huge for this film to create new records for itself.

The film's advance bookings have already commenced and it is quite clear that PK will fetch a massive opening. Also Aamir Khan being a global star has always made his films perform brilliantly in the overseas markets. Looking at its release, the film may even cross Dhoom 3s record.
