Ash is strictly mediocre as an actress. She fails to connect with the audience. Her emotional scenes make me cringe, always comes across fake. her failure is that she can never blend into a character and convince the audience like PC did in Barfi or Bebo in JWM.

No one can accuse Ash of being natural in acting😆

She is an extremely talented actress but I would call her an inconsistent performer, even though she has delivered some top notch performances, she overacted in some movies too. I mean Action Replay? There is no explanation for that 🥱 But she has immense potential and we have only seen 20% of what she is capable of. She can blow all her contemporaries out of the park if she really wants to.

In Kajra Re she had little makeup on, and she looked ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. 😳

In real life, she tends to cake on too much of the pancake which IMO, takes away from her Beauty.

I don't think she looked great in Kajra Re. She looked really average in Guru with no makeup at all. I guess we have to agree to disagree.

Aishwarya is more a star than an actress...She created a brand name for herself with her conduct,grace and elegance...all i can say is she is a complete package

I love Aish because she's a complete package. And plus I loved her many movies in terms of her performance. And any actress who can dance becomes a complete fav of mine. IMO ever actress nails certain roles..Aish is romantic and period films.

That said..I agree with members who said she sometimes appears fake or plastic onscreen when she's acting. She def isn't a natural.

Having read what everyone has to say, i feel even many Ash fans have no qualms in agreeing that she 'may' or 'may not ' be a natural performer. Most people like her because she is as Beboholic said - a complete package . The born-to-be-star looks, the studied and almost learnt like a craft attitude , the self-created allure to her debatable (read plastic) star aura and the way she has conducted her celebrity life without making a spectacle of herself ( mostly) is what is commendable about her. Even her manipulations are manicured with tact.

Anyway, yes, she is no natural performer and i don't think she ever wanted to be a great actress - she only knew that with the face and the brain that she was born, she was just made for big things.

Not bashing Ash- just putting forward what i see of this green-eyed monster beauty.

I think people give her intellect more credit than due. 😆 She is not that intelligent. Who lets go of those amazing Hollywood offers, turning down Will Smith and Brad Pitt, she was seriously dumb to do that,,

And some people give her talent give less credit than deserved. She might have overacted in some movies, but she has given some stunning performances that will be remembered for years, Nandini, Paro, Mansi, Jodha, Neeru, Binodini, Meenakshi, her filmography is just so great. Every critic out there who at some point or the other had criticized her has acknowledged her performances, this just dint happen automatically. Aishwariya worked hard for it and if she dint want to become a great actress she would have given up long long ago. Infact I find the statement amusing that she dint want to become a great actress...she had the fire and passion to do something different. Nothing else explains doing a small Bong art house movie Chokher Bali after magnum opus blockbuster Devdas
