That happened because Amitabh's roles used to be larger than life roles and the people just were in awe of the persona that he portrayed...and sometimes for that reason his acting part was overlooked...otherwise AB Sr is as powerful an actor as Dilip Saab if not better...

No list of greatest actors is complete without Amitabh. He is either no.1 or second only to Dilip Kumar.
