It could definitely be because of that, I loved him in Paa and do think he's got talent but in his younger days he was known more of a star than an actor, maybe like you mentioned it's the type of movies he did that made him underrated as an actor.

A good dancer is not one who just moves his/her body flexibly. A good dancer also emotes and expresses the nuances well. Such dancers are mostly good actors.

The likes of Daisy and Katrina can only move their body not their facial muscles.
