Okay this is triggered by some of the recent dance related posts and discussions in them...

Can u think of examples of when ur fav dancer, or a very good dancer was let down by the choreography? Maybe it didn't suit them or maybe the steps were just weird or something...

The first one I can think of in this case was the "nacho bin payal" song from fiza...I mean karishma such an ace in western dancing but the choreo here just completely killed everything...

Let's share and discuss some instances when the choreo let the dancer down...

Katrina Kaif is such a GOOD dancer. Choreography seems to have let her down a lot in her earlier movies.

Katrina in Kamli. She is such a good, graceful, joyful dancer. It was such a let down for me to see her in it and I was so looking forward to it.

I completely agree. That choreo was an atrocity, Saroj Khan gave her steps that were so aggressive and manly. Those steps looked sooo appealing to me as a youngin and now when I look back... no, just no.

What? seriously? That's one of her best numbers, or do you mean you were disappointed with the fact that they used body doubles?

Seriously, I found it to be one of her worst actually. It was technically good, but Kat is a very sensual dancer. In Kamli she is basically performing a strip tease and it came across as cold and robotic. I also throw in Malang, I liked it better but if you contrast the hoop work which was technically superior in Malang to the one in Sheila ki Jawani and even in Chikini Chameli where she hangs from the chandelier, I connected with them. In Malang and Kamli, it was a technically superior but cold performance to me. I did not see Kat's personality, joy or sensuality that I liked and connected with in other dances. I think your observation about body doubles maybe right.

I thought Chamak Challo was badly choreographed (i.e. it exposed all of SRK-Kareena's flaws)...but then neither is a good dancer so...😆

When it comes to SRK and Kareena's dancing...its all flaws and then some more flaws😆😆
