I think Alia only has an edge over Ileana, Nargis, and those kinds of actresses. She needs to grow up a bit though, she looks like a child, can you imagine her opposite an older actor? even Ranbir and her wouldn't match - but Parineeti (as an example) would. I cant see her with 90% of the actors.

I dont think thats a major problem. Its an asset actually for an actress if she continues to look younger than her age. I think she will look fine with Ranbir too. And she neednt look good with older stars. I doubt she will be acting opposite any of them anyway. She will find enough leading men in her age group.
Parineeti I would have agreed was leading couple of months back. But now with the same number of films as Parineeti IMO Alia has overtaken her simply because she has balanced her films well while Parineeti is stuck in her chirpy YRF girl rut.

I have seen SOTY in bits and pieces.she was just average.I think she's being praised by critics and friends/family more than she actually deserves.I hope she keeps herself grounded or else she will disappear from Bollywood faster than she can imagine.Pooja Bhatt was the next big thing after getting critical acclaim in her movie 'Daddy' followed by commercial blockbuster 'dil hai ki maanta nahi' and look where she went after that.

I won't be surprised if that happens. She has everything going for her- plus she really seems to be improving with every film. Her only real competition amongst the newbies is Parineeti, but Pari isn't able to balance her roles and her glamorous avatar in her next film isn't too promising as of now, Alia on the other hand is coming out as someone who can balance being a sexy kitten as well as a performer.. that opens up a range of roles for her. If she keeps choosing the right scripts, she could actually go very far.

Me too saw a lot of untapped potential in Alia from SOTY only 😳..She had great screen presence and amazing confidence for a debutante...the ability to completely transform into character,shedding all inhibitions...I think the hate she received has mostly to do with the bimbo character she portrayed...Ppl felt Shanaya had no substance,her immaturity irritated them and probably it passed on to Alia 😆...But hey! the minority was right this time around and Alia has proved it now 😉

Too early to say that...gosh she is just 3 films old...don't jinx her...BW is very very unpredictable...and is full of 2 movie wonders...let her give a few more successful movies and a few more years...if she is going to be the next number one...it will show..

Aloo is everything. She can do hot and glamourous... she can do de-glam, laidback, simple. She's GORGEOUS in both indian wear and casuals. She's got terrific screen presence... dialogue delivery - she hasn't mastered it completely but she's definitely improved... SOTY... Highway... 2 States - she's shown immense growth... I wish her all the best for Humpty... love her dialogue "main paida hi hot hui thi" 😆 No.1 actress - she is in the running for sure with the way she's going. I like Pari's performance in Ishaqzaade but I'd rate Alia over her in terms of overall as I've been majorly disappointed with Pari in her last two movies. Alia's got talent and I bet I'm gonna love watching her grow as an actor and seeing all her films :) I just wanna see her dance - my wish will be fulfilled in Saturday Saturday song 😃

I have liked her since pre SOTY tbh..i felt she is a good actor and also its not easy 2 play a high school bimbo...u need tht attitude and swag..either u will get it right or not at all...thenn ffcourse she proved evryone wrong in 2states and Highway..i think she is already number 1 now in the next gen...she can act..dance..be the sweet girl and the hot girl...and offcourse her personal life is quiet interesting..😉😆 and this will b utilised very well by her PRs...walla😊

Agree !She got critical acclaim in Highway , then gave a 100 cr 2 states and now might have another hit with HSKD . She is balancing everything perfectly

Na, can't see anything stopping Alia if she continues to select good films. Anu, DP etc didn't gain much as they got their first big hit with a superstar, but 2 States success had put Alia in limelight. Moreover she's getting praised for her performances which didn't happen so early for current senior heroines except Bebo.
