Pakistani actress Mahira Khan's role in SRK starrer Raees is not to be underestimated! Her character, as SRK's wife, will have a great impact on the rise of the protagonist played by SRK in the film, from a gangster to a political leader.

As revealed by an insider: "The film is based in the backdrop of the Muslim ghetto in Gujarat and Raees is essentially a story of this man who becomes powerful. The heroine's role is also a prominent one - that of SRK's wife, a Muslim woman."

Reportedly for the character which Mahira will be playing in the film, the makers thought of approaching Huma Qureshi at first. But later they changed their mind as the particular mannerism they were looking for, was found in the beauty across the border.

The source evolved:
"Huma Qureshi. They thought Huma would fit the bill and also they wanted a fresh pairing of sorts. But then, they got Mahira on board because the character required the actress to have a certain kind of mannerism and lingo and being a Pakistani, Mahira totally nailed it."

As per reports Shah Rukh & Mahira recently finished shooting for a dance sequence for Raees & the Superstar is very happy with the outcome. Raees' teaser was widely appreciated & the trailer will be releasing soon! Raees releases this year on Eid.

Just wondering what happened to them filming in Gujrat for a few days. It doesn't look like Shahrukh went there or maybe there's still a few days of filming left still.
