So, this is part 9 of this series. We have made it a staple on IF. But, has one really stood out? 😉 Today, let's talk about BIWI NO.1. It is one of Salman's most memorable comedies. Plus, it had Sushmita Sen (she won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress) and Karishma Kapoor was at the top at this time. Please share your thoughts on BIWI NO.1. 😊

Very entertaining but one thing made no sense at all. Salman was very happily married and suddenly he turned for sushmita. The guy who works with models his whole life, this doesn't suit him much. They should have handled this part better.
But yeah, anil was good, karishma as usual was fantastic and the movie over all made us laugh.

David Dhawan doesn't make good comedies anymore, he has lost it. 😡😆

He started well in Main Tera Hero then I don't know where he went wrong suddenly. I was enjoying the movie and then all of a sudden started getting bored. I think when Varun went to save Illena, it starts to get boring. Thats the part where we should have laughed the most.

I don't why chashme badoor was liked so much? It was nothing new. Rascals was horrible. Do Knot Disturb was pretty boring, not funny at all. Yes looks like after 2007 he pretty much lost it.

He should just let his sons take over now, don't you think?
No more direction. 😉

Varun is a good actor. He has got future if he is careful with scripts. His other son who made Desi Boyz, he messed up the movie pretty big. The movie had everything going for him, very good songs, dream lead pair, deepika, Sanjay Dutt in cameo and chatur playing an interesting part. It would take a genius to mess such a thing. The movie was declared a flop.

I think David should give himself two or three years and support his sons and then hang up his boots.

I have not seen Varun yet in a movie, can't comment. Desi Boyz was crap! Anyway, let's hope David Dhawan does one more movie he can retire on and be remembered for! 😛

What a coincidence. I just randomly decided to watch the movie again last night. I remember when I watched the movie the first time (when it first came out) I liked it so much.
This time around NOT SO MUCH

As I was watching it I was thinking how disgusting and sexist the movie was. The way Salman start his affair with Sushmita is gross. He makes it seem like it is no big deal. Like it is possible to love your wife and have a mistress to sleep around with at the same time. And it does not necessarily make you a terrible man.

The end pissed me off like many other Salman movies. He did not really pay a lot for his mistakes. Yeah he accepts his mistake and goes back to her but not willingly. Sushmita finds another guy so that actually leaves him no choice.

I hate the way Karishma accepts him. Like it wasn't a big deal that he cheated on her so badly. It was terrible that he left her. She was so much angrier at Sushmita than Salman, when Sush had no reason to worry about her family, Salman on the other hand did.

It was so hard for me to tolerate the sexism.

Yeah, but thats the comedy what was pretty much going around those days. Thats why they say only some movies age well. Do you really think movies like Dhoom 3, Dabangg 2 would work if they are released in 3-4 years? Audience taste changes pretty soon.

What he will do is rip off another movie like he did for Partner, Hero No 1 put his own touch and comeback with a bang if things are not looking good. You should see Main Tera Hero if you have some time. Acting wise varun was good. He showed that he has potential to do a lot of things.
