Badly photo-shopped, The upper shot is good. But the leg portion should have been edited better. I have a gut feeling that this movie will be good and will work. As long as teaser and trailer deliver, there is no actual harm done.

On side note, Ranbir looks exhausted. He has that strained look on his face. He needs to take a micro mini vacation to get his bearing back.

One thing that I find peculiar about Ranbir's films are its treatment by the directors. Look at Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali and the way they treat a story. There's a lot of renaissance influences in Ali whilst Kashyap likes to emulate the HW legend Martin Scoresese. Now, compare it with Anurag Basu. The influence in his work comes from many Bengali film-makers. Hence he knows how to treat the story in a manner that manages to find that connect with an Indian audience. His story-telling method is very deep rooted. Barfi had way too many time-frame jumps for an Indian film..but it worked. The same amount of time-frame jumps in Tamasha made the film's narrative look too non-linear for Indian cinema. What i feel is Imtiaz stuck to his "Desi" roots in Rockstar but then went too 'Renaissance' in Tamasha.

As for the photo, i updated an HQ version 😆. I do feel this movie will work because the team has made it with the intention of "I want our kids to have a relatable BW character whose not a superhero but still is a hero".. It's like if the comic books of Tintin and Asterix and they were a kids fav, it's in that same zone, y'know? IMO, there's nothing bigger than a Disney film in terms of it's audience size. If the kids love it, they will drag their families to watch it. Plus, Pritam and Ranbir's catch musical combo 😳

I think he's fresh and rearing to go. He's honestly not worked that much this year, by his own admission.

RRS - You give me a lot of hope for this movie. I feel much better after reading your post about it.
Its been ridiculed so much everywhere that the negativity is stuck in my mind. I hope you are right about this being a kids friendly story.

I love these chances Ranbir takes with his movie. It keeps his movie line-up fresh. And you are right about Basu. I love Ranbir's choice of directors. They have something in them.

Colossal disappointment of box office doesn't mean next generation will feel the same about the movie. I have seen many movies appreciated who were DOD at time of release. I was talking about stress of working on publicity for ADHM. Ranbir is getting that dehydrated look facing the camera and talking too much. I don't think he loves doing so many interviews.

Jaggo Jasoos will work (finger crossed). Kids are choosy but they are remarkably fair. They don't fall into same trap like adults. Hai he broke so and so's heart. Arre he is acting the same as he did in so and so movie. Adults sometime lose their perspective and few brain cells in process.

If the movie makes kids laugh and fall in love, they will bring their parents to theater. And if movie is clean then it will be mass hit. It is high time some one does Indian Tin Tin. I have incidentally brought to whole set of Tin Tin (huge -huge fan) and Asterix. I am so looking forward to this movie.

I love our discussions 🤗

Yeah. So look at those directors and now Ranbir's next choices. Raju-master of story-telling for indian audiences, Ayan-best rom-com in recent years of BW. (the next director he signs after Ayan & Raju will give us a clear idea of what his mindset is like currently) I think he has learnt that the 'indie' director thing was getting too much. So, he's shifting to directors to directors who have their sensibilities more deep-rooted in Indian cinema. But, his directors are truly fantastic and bring out the best in him. We give too much credit to actors. The directors are everything!

So, I think this was shot long before. It's a time-frame of 3 years so you can't really say when. I'm assuming sometime right after the Breakup this year.

@bold on: spot on! And for someone who gets trashed for doing the same old, he's doing a rarely done genre in BW. Adventure-comedy meets musical. It's like Tintin meets Indiana Jones meets a disney musical. SEEMS so EXCITING Just from the sound of it!

@red: *HI 5* Same! I have both the comics and they're so lovely. Such nice humor and the setting are so bright and lovely. It's the perfect visual for an Indian audience.

P.S: I have some JJ pics from sets of Morocco, South Africa and Thailand. I'm not allowed to share publicly but i can PM you.😊 The landscapes that are gonna be the settings for the jungles, the rivers, the deserts, are so beautiful! Add that to the comedic element, the music of Pritam and the story of finding their lost father (played by actor who played the villain in Kahaani ), and the kids and family might just love it. Also, there's no romantic angle in the film, afaik.
