HRITHIK WAS SO HAPPY, HE DIDN'T LOOK AT THE MONITOR'

Ashutosh Gowariker's period love story, Mohenjo Daro, starring Hrithik Roshan and newbie Pooja Hegde finally rolled yesterday. "It's been in pre-production for a while now. So when we took the first shot, everyone on the sets got emotional, including Ashu," said Ashutosh's wife, Sunita who is one of the film's producer. Incidentally, the crew is shooting in Bhuj, at the same location where Ashutosh filmed his Oscarnominated drama Lagaan.

"It's been more than a decade but it seems like yesterday!" Sunita exclaimed. Mirror ( October 28, 2014) had earlier reported that the film was delayed by two months due to Hrithik's back injury. "But he's recovered completely now and is looking stunning," Sunita gushed, adding that they canned crowd scenes, involving over 150 people on Day one. "We couldn't start with action as Hrithik needs to familiarise himself with the character. We want him to spend a week with the character, doing dramatic sequences before we go all out with the action."

She added that Hrithik was so pleased with the shots that he didn't even bother to look at the monitor: "It's great when an actor shows so much faith in a filmmaker. Hrithik is a phenomenal actor and we're glad the film is finally off to a great start." Action director Glenn Boswell will join the unit on February 3. "He picked up Screen Actors Guild Awards trophy for his work in Angelina Jolie's Unbroken and asked us if he could join us a little later as he's getting an award. We told him to collect all the awards before we transport him back to Harappa," Sunita laughed. The crew will shoot in Bhuj till April before moving to Mumbai. The film is expected to wrap up in August and will release in the same month next year.

The film shooting will end in Aug so that's good news, HR can start another film this year

Ashu will take his time on the post production he took 1 year for JA same here too not expecting nothing but an EPIC film

Too uch excited for this film will be really aclassic film and damn the shooting will end in Aug is too great hrithik must do another film and release it in 2016 without any problem

ya sure, the next will release in 2016. i just said he won't start next in august. it would start around november or december 2015

Arunoday turns villain

It will be Hrithik vs the actor in Mohenjo Daro

While it is known that Kabir Bedi plays the main villain in Hrithik Roshan starrer Mohenjo Daro, we've now learnt that Arunoday Singh also features in the Ashutosh Gowariker film in a negative role. The film just went on floors with its first schedule in Bhuj. Reveals a source, "Arunoday plays Kabir's son in the film and will feature in action sequences with Hrithik.

Ashutosh confirms the development, "We needed someone who was good looking but could evoke a sense of being fierce in order to play the young antagonist opposite Hrithik's character". Not just that, the director also feels that Arunoday will "look more believable as Kabir Bedi's son on screen" and "perfectly suited the role."

"Hrithik will sport a leaner look in the film and he had been following a strict workout regimen specially designed by his own trainer to make sure he's in shape," a source continued, "He will have gruelling action sequences in the film and has been undergoing tremendous training sessions for the same."

Arunoday will also be seen in an adrenaline pumping action avatar for Mohenjo Daro. "The action scenes will have Hrithik and me going head-to-head with each other. I am very excited about shooting those portions," Arunoday continued. "Moreover, the action stunts in the film will be supervised by Hollywood stunt co-ordinator Glenn Boswell (of The Matrix and X-Men Origins: Wolverine fame) which again gives me a different high altogether," he added.
