Though I love kajol's spunk on screen ,I find ash's filmography more impressive..She took a lot of risks in her career and has played a variety of characters which are distinctly different from each other..this i am saying inspite of loving kajol more onscreen than ash..but undoubtedly kajol is a more powerful actress than ash ..

Well, I do think Kajol is great and she is also one of my favs, I feel that she doesn't have any roles that are HERS. What I mean by that, is even though she was good in many movies, I can easily see another person IN HER PLACE.

Whereas Ash's roles are more iconic, in the sense that you cant really see anyone else doing them. HDDCS, Devdas, Raincoat, and even Umrao Jaan, who else could've pulled that off from the current generation? No one. Granted the movie failed, but its one of them most strongest performances I have seen.

I doubt Kajol could do an Umrao Jaan or Devdas...but if Aishwarya works hard, I can see her pulling off a MNIK or Fanaa.

^^ I dont think that there is any role in aish's entire career which kajol cannot play. Infact kareena was the first choice for HDDCS (correct me if i m wrong). Sorry but i dont know what was so special about HDDCS? While kajol's role in fanna was more challanging than aish in HDDCS. In every daily soap u will find nandini but not zuni. In Hum hum apke dil me rehte hai kajol's role was much similar to aish's in HDDCS. If aish just need hard work for fanna so lets use same logic for kajol for any role/character.

There is no role played by any actress/actor which is hard for another actress/actor to play if they know 'A' of Acting. And acting wise kajol is better than aish.

Kajol can do any role except perhaps those period films like JA and Devdas where Aishwarya was more suitable.

She is not replaceable in all her films. Her simplicity and playfulness is unmatched in films like KKHH, DDLJ. And no one else can do Gupt, Dushman as well she did.

There is no actress who gave hit and acclaimed films in diametrically different roles in such a short time period as Kajol did. You have DDLJ in 1995 and Gupt in 1997. Manisha is a real good actress but Kajol overshadowed her and everyone else in Gupt.

The only other actress who showed such risk taking and versatility early in her career was Priyanka Chopra.

Not easy to replace aish from periodic film and cant imagine any other actress in DDLJ and KKHH.
